I have been playing the 7th guest for around 2 months now and managed to get as far as the piano puzzle without help.
I have tried and tried over and over again but I can't solve this puzzle...not even after using the few cheats that are available.
Until I do this puzzle I can't progress to the next puzzle and on to the end of the game.
I really have tried over this but just can't do it.
Can anyone help me to complete this puzzle..or maybe someone has a saved game for the piano puzzle they could send me.
I really want to get to the end of the game now after spending 2 months with it.

I do seem to recall playing it (and indeed have the game, if I recall correctly), but it has been a long time, I'm afraid.

From what I looked up last night, I take it that they made it more than a simple memory game (I'm afraid - perhaps ironically - that I don't think that I remember it clearly ^^; ).  If not, then I recommend a simple sketch of the keyboard and noting down numerically the order of key presses.

If, however, they did indeed leave you "playing by ear" for some notes, then I fear that I'm likely to be of little help - if that were the case, then I probably either made it through with effort or, perhaps more likely, simply looked up the solution: audio-tone puzzles are probably somewhat of a weak point of mine. :/

Nevertheless, noting down the visibly-pressed keys may yet help you to narrow it down.  Additionally, perhaps try pressing the keys without regard to the game for a little bit, if that is not too strongly limited, and try to listen to the sound of each key.

Have you considered looking at a walkthrough, or at UHS-hints?  Even if the puzzle is entirely randomised, they may have further advice for you.

I only looked quickly, I think, but it appears that UHS-hints has a full solution.

The book is in the room with the telescope puzzle (the library), you have to use it 3 times to bypass any puzzle. The piano is not randomized, it's not difficult, you don't need any timing nor hearing skills, just press the same keys he presses (he repeats the same sequence adding a note every time, so it takes a lot of patience)

I haven't played this game in ages but even though I have a 70 % hearing loss I did get past the piano puzzle. Here's how I did it:

objective - Stauf plays 18 notes; you have to play back each of these 18 notes that Stauf plays.

1) close up on the piano keyboard;
2) number the keys 1, 2, 3, 4, all the way to 18 as they're played;
3) press each key in your numbered sequence.

Is this a good game?  Never heard of it.  Think I'll go do some research.

It worked OK for most of the time though I had to do a lot of saves as the game would crash sometimes...though not often.

I throughly enjoyed play the 7th Guest...onto the 11th Hour now.
