Description

Third Person

From Review #1 (Spanish version):

"So, what we have here? An adventure game with a great storyline, ingenious puzzles, memorable characters, lush hand-painted graphics and an awesome soundtrack. Yes, although it's far from perfect, this game has it all.

"Throughout the years, Spain has offered us some great, underrated gems like the text adventures of AD, La Abadía Del Crimen, an isometric perspective game that made the most of 8-bits computers, Igor: Objective Uikokahonia, from the very same Péndulo Studios, not to mention some great titles from Dinamic, Opera Soft and Topo. Runaway somehow seems like the culmination of it all - it might be the best graphic adventure Spain has produced.

"I don't know if it's a classic - only time can tell if Runaway deserves a place alongside the timeless - but this is the one of the most balanced and enjoyable adventures of these last years."

From Review #2 (English version):

"The best thing about Runaway is the sheer delight at sinking into the type of adventure game that you really might have thought no one made anymore. The environments are bright and colorful, the inventory-based puzzles are diverse and challenging, and the story pretty solid.

"Unfortunately, the game is not all roses...Like its predecessors from a decade ago, the game suffers significantly from Pixel Hunt Disease...several key puzzles suffer from one of two fun-busting problems: Opaque non-intuitiveness and downright silliness...Also bringing down the overall delight factor in the game is the dopey dialog spoken poorly by a rack of very unfunny characters.

"HOWEVER. As Woody Allen said, a huge percentage of success is showing up, and you’ve got to give Runaway credit for showing up with bells on. Despite its problems, it’s lots of fun to play. Maybe those crazy Spaniards will do better next time...As an adventure fan, I wouldn’t have missed Runaway, and neither should you."
