The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition Releasing on Xbox April 17, 2012
Release date unveiled at press conference.
CD Projekt RED announced today the official release date for their upcoming Xbox 360 adaptation of the award-winning role-playing game The Witcher 2. The date has been set for April 17, 2012. The official title will be known as The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition.
Announced during a press conference in Warsaw, Poland, CD Projekt RED revealed additional features that were added to the Xbox 360 version. They also revealed the brand-new CGI game intro, which was directed by BAFTA winner and Oscar nominee Tomasz Baginski. The intro can be viewed at GameTrailers.com.
“The Xbox 360 version is a complete adaptation of the game to the new platform, we’ve rewritten the code so it feels native to the console. This latest version of The Witcher 2 has been expanded in many ways, and some experts believe it to be one of the best-looking games ever to make it to consoles,” said Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED studio.
The Xbox 360 version has also received extended gameplay through a series of new quests and locations, as well as expanding the plot with the introduction of new NPCs. PC players shouldn't fret about being left out in the cold, however:
“PC users who already own the game will be happy to learn that they will be able to download all the added content free of charge. At the same time, the Xbox 360 version will incorporate all DLCs and upgrades made available thus far for the game’s original platform (including the ‘Arena’ arcade mode and Tutorial that were part of the latest and richest PC version)” added Badowski.
Other additions to the Xbox 360 edition involved a better control system, user interface, camera system and more. For more information about The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition and pre-order information, click here: LINK
