All-New Game Brings Jessica Fletcher Back to Cabot Cove
“Murder, She Wrote” franchise launches new games for PC/Mac
LOS ANGELES – November 21, 2012 – Television’s beloved murder mystery is back for a second round of crime solving in an all–new interactive game “Murder, She Wrote 2: Return to Cabot Cove.” Legacy Games, the creator of the incredibly successful first game in the series, has teamed up again with Universal Partnerships & Licensing and NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products to bring the popular license to PC/Mac. The game is now available for sale at www.legacygames.com.
“Murder, She Wrote 2” features three new cases for prolific crime fiction writer and amateur detective Jessica Fletcher to solve in the sleepy but all-too-frequently lethal town of Cabot Cove. It also features a special case with international intrigue that Jessica must solve while traveling abroad to research her latest book.
Similar to the first installment, game play consists of searching for hidden clues and solving puzzles as players travel between various locations unraveling mysteries to uncover the truth. “Murder, She Wrote 2” also provides more player engagement with the addition of light adventure elements such as collecting and using inventory items, questioning suspicious characters, and exploring an immersive and interconnected game world.
“Incorporating elements well-loved by fans in the first installment, game play consists of searching for clues and picking up key items to use to get past obstacles and obtain new information,” Producer Kira Schlitt says. “For instance, in the early stages of the game, you’ve got to see if the penknife you’ve found is the actual murder weapon. You need to find a paperweight carved by the penknife, solve a puzzle to compare the markings on the paperweight to the painting that was stolen using the murder weapon. If it’s a match, you’re one step closer to catching the killer!”
“Murder, She Wrote 2” is uniquely appealing to casual gamers and fans of the classic TV show. It features the likeness of beloved actress Angela Lansbury, as Jessica Fletcher, as well as Ron Masak as Sheriff Mort Metzger, and William Windom as Dr. Seth Hazlitt from the long-running TV series. Also, game fans will be delighted to hear that the original voice actors from the first game are back for the sequel!
Additional features players can expect to see in “Murder, She Wrote 2” include:
- Three all-new cases to solve, each with multiple twists and turns!
- Explore a bigger and more expansive Cabot Cove solving murders as Jessica Fletcher
- Over 25 stunning hidden object scenes and mini-game logic puzzles
- Beautiful hand-painted graphics and animated cutscenes
Both “Murder, She Wrote” and “Murder, She Wrote 2: Return to Cabot Cove” PC/Mac games are available for download at www.legacygames.com, along with exclusive “Legacy Extras,” including wallpapers, sound tracks and publicity photos of everyone’s favorite amateur detective.
