Life in the Dorms Starts This Friday on Xbox Live
Clothes? Check. Books? Check. Pens and pencils? Check. Ramen noodles? Check plus.
The wait is finally over: After more than two years in development, the little adventure game that could is ready for release on Xbox Live. Just as college students around the world are starting their own school years anew, so too is Dack Peeples—although for Dack, this isn't so much a cause for excitement…
…as it is a cause for finding a nice dark corner to hide in.
Welcome to Life in the Dorms.
Coming September 14th to Xbox Live Indie Games, Life in the Dorms brings the classic spirit of old-school adventure games to modern-day videogame consoles. Join Dack—a kid who started feeling homesick before he even left home—as he puzzle-solves his way through college orientation; learns about love, friendship, and ramen noodles; and tries very hard not to get killed by his axe-wielding psychopath of a roommate.
Other top bullet points of the game include:
· Bears! Murder! …Icebreakers!
· An engrossing coming-of-age tale about blah blah blah
· Sharp dialogue written by an acclaimed humor writer!
· A crossover with the hit corporate-simulator Office DisOrders
· No Avatars or voxels—whatsoever!
· And a price tag that's cheaper than a spiral-bound notebook.
Life in the Dorms also introduces a brand-new, social networking-inspired interaction to the adventure game oeuvre: Dack can post "Flitter" updates about everything and everyone in the game—in fact, he'll have to, in order to solve many of the game's challenging puzzles.
