During the first chapter of Stephen King's saga The Dark Tower, Jake Chambers falls off an ancient, crumbling bridge and screams to Roland Deschain:
"Go then, there are other worlds than these..."
Alter World starts with a scene in which a little boy and his dog are happily playing. A strange door suddenly appears and the dog disappears through this door.
The boy goes in search of his dog, even though he doesn't know where the dog went. Is it possible his companion is in an alternative universe? Who knows?
Alter World is a 2D platformer with a unique gameplay mechanism. The game's levels are also unique. They contain puzzles that measure a player's speed and reactions, and assess when to move between Worlds.
Alter World is being developed in a distinctive painterly style of art. The game's universe consists of four different locations, each with its own alternative reality.
The game will be released on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, iPad, Android at a date TBD. A Greenlight campaign is in progress.
