A horror adventure for PC and Mac based on the Dyatlov Pass Incident
February 24, 2014
Kholat is an adventure-horror game by indie developer IMGN.PRO. It takes its inspiration from the Dyatlov Pass Incident, which really happened and left many unanswered questions.
Players will dive directly into the expansive and inhospitable Ural Mountains and explore the incident's many mysteries in an attempt to discover the truth.
In the winter of 1959, nine skilled, experienced alpinists went ski-hiking in the northern Ural Mountains in the former Soviet Union. They were never seen alive again.
The broken, mutilated bodies of all nine hikers were found scattered on the slope of Kholat Syakhl which, in the language of the indigenous Mansi tribesmen, means Mountain of the Dead.
Russian investigators ultimately declared that the hikers were killed by "a compelling unknown force." Due to the "absence of a guilty party," the case was closed.
To this day, no one knows what really happened.
