Got the game yesterday and I'm already stuck.
Am in the lighthouse, with lantern and a computer disk, no other inventory.
Can' get the "generator" to work, assume it's a pattern between 3 buttons on back and the three valves on the balcony...
I haven't found anything else on island, and can't use boat to go back, so assume I'm where I'm supposed to be, with what I'm supposed to have..
Anyone else started this game, and gotten any farther?
Thanks

Don't give up, the author is very logical.  You will no doubt find some writing on the wall somewhere, or a note in a drawer, or some related item that gives it away.  I'm looking forward to this one. [smiley=hyper.gif]

ok, guess this game is going to have some pixel hunting.
Face the generator on the "front" side and turn left toward the stairs.  At the lower left corner there is a hot spot to use the lantern... use it and find a parchment that gives a number code (in ship's profiles)
the de-code is outside on the balcony, behind the wooden plate for the "phone".

yeah, i'm having the same trouble.
I've tried the buttons/valves in the numerical order 1-2-3- as shown...(both valves first, and then buttons first), then I reversed the numerical order on the generator since the picture has the numbers in front of the drawing and if you match the buttons from where they are to the code, it reverses the numbers -- and did it all again.
then I tried using the 1-2-3- as the number of times you push the buttons/valves -- either in numerical order still and then in top-bottom or left-right, etc.
I even did button/valve in paired combo's, by numberical order.
Nothing seems to work for me either.  This is not fun anymore.
I assume that when we get it, the generator guage in the front will show pressure, or the light in the next room will go on..
let me know if you crack this puppy.  I'm going to try again in a little while.

I'm stuck at the start  :'(  I've got the floppy disk from the book.  Looked around the kitchen & outside toilet - no idea where to go or what to do?

Please can somebody give me a nudge?

Thanks

If you approach the bird pictures (the ones that you landed on when you transported?) you will be returned to the journal on the bed.
Then you can read the rest of the journal and -- if you haven't done so already -- start exploring outside.  You want to find the shed with the blue door and enter.
Hurry up and get to this generator puzzle so you can help us out.

Do you mean the shed with the guy inside?  I've already done that and he says to go and get some things before getting in the boat?   What do I do next?

If you've read everything in the journals, (and have the diskette from the transportation segment journal), try going to the boat  and getting in -- there are no more inventory items to get.  I thought this line of the dialogue is misleading.
If the boat lets you leave, you're done and can start the Island segment.

If you can't leave, make sure you go back and look at the maps in the box by the bed, this might be the missing action.

Thanks for your help.  I read somewhere that I needed to find a compass before I could leave in the boat  :

Solved the generator puzzle:

Ok, the code does not refer to how many times you press each button, but rather to the order. So, if I remember correctly, you want to press the middle button on the generator once, then press the third button once, and then the first button once. Repeat that sequence on the valves in the other room, and you'll light up the lighthouse... I might have mixed up the order there, but you get the idea...

But now I'm stuck again... I've explored the entire lighthouse, read lots of notes, looked at lots of pictures... but haven't found anything else to do! There is one door (Drake's) with some kinda code lock, but I have no idea what to do with that... other than that, all I've seen are some unresponsive controls up near the main light...

Hmm, so far this installment is proving much harder than the first!

I tried this "order" solution every which way,,,, perhaps I de-coded the ships wrong, but I had

2 3 1 as the order shown on the diagram, (and since that was in front of the generator, also tired 1 3 2, per reverse order from behind the machine.)
So in niether case would I start with the middle, unless counting backwards.  This is strange.

then the button were definitely, from top to bottom, 2 3 1 --  so I always started with the bottom, to top to middle.
I'll go back and try these in reverse, but that really seems bizarre, given the parchment code.
Thanks so much.

Thanks, that's got me in (the code is not hard, it just shows the order in which to press the buttons)... but now... stuck again! I've read a bunch of documents in Drake's office, and found another code-lock type mechanism in his closet that I have no clue how to operate... this is getting frustrating!

.There are two oval portriat pictures in Drake's room.  Turn them over and they each have a 2-digit number on them... I'm assuming that these are the 4 digits you need for the hidden door in the closet.  I'm going to put the numbers in and then rotate thru the alphabet for the first place in the code -- since I haven't found a singel letter clue for that one.  I'm hoping this works.

That was the first thing I tried - no luck... the only other clue that I think might apply is one of the pictures in a drawer under the bed showing a boat with the code "WH218" on its side... But I don't know what to do with that... (tried W8218, 8 being the number equivalent of H... didn't work).

Hi everyone! Well I'm glad that I found this topic because I was stuck as well with this generator and thanks to you, I got through because I would NEVER have found that code in the dark there...

Anyway, I'm stuck again and it seems that you lot are stuck in the same place!! What do we do now?? The only thing I can think off right now is looking for a bottle somewhere in the rocks (??)... (from that photo we see in one of the boxes upstairs). It probably isn't that though since I've been going round in circles for ages without success...

Any other clues?? Thanks.

Jacquie

Just so noone else wastes their time doing it, I tried all of the possible combinations of 18 and 24 (from behind the portraits), and each with all letters of the alphabet. :

1248  2148  4128  8124
1284  2184  4182  8142
1428  2418  4218  8214
1482  2481  4281  8241
1824  2814  4812  8412
1842  2841  4821  8421

I also tried all combinations of 1234 (as was written on the sketch of Fetch Rock found earlier) with all letters of the alphabet for each.

I did the same, and nothing either.

This game isn't nearly as much fun as the first one...

Anyway, has everyone found the button to open the bottom drawer of Drake's dresser.  In there is a sketch of some sort -- and it looks like a further clue to the door code.

just shows the numbers 1 2 3 4 and a single "barrel" button.  I thought it might mean to try J (10th letter) in the alpha position.  And maybe you had to enter that first before trying the numbers, but I couldn't get anything to work on that either.
This is frustrating.

Who wants to go test all possible combinations of 4-digit numbers (10 ^ 4 = 10,000)?
