Status : Offline | Mark Walker (aka The Game Guy) has asked if we could post the following small survey. The results of the survey are to be collected and used in a new book titled Games That Sell that he is currently writing on the game industry. It is possible that if one of your responses is used, that your name may also be included in print. Mark has also promised to award a few free games to selected respondants.
This is your chance to make your voice as an adventure gamer heard outside of the adventure community. If you do decide to complete the survey, please do a cut and paste of the text below and then send the questions and your responses to mark@markwalker.com . Please do not post your responses on this forum as they will not be tabulated. Thanks.
------------------------------------------------------------------------ What influences your gaming purchases the most? Select two. __ Cool Factor (i.e. Max Payne’s Bullet Time) __ Topic (includes era, licenses (Star Trek), franchises (Resident Evil) __ Promotions (TV ads, game mag ads, promotional stunts, game prominently displayed in store) __ Genre (real-time strategy, etc) __ Publisher/developer
Do you believe the publisher (Infogrames, EA, etc.) or the developer (Blizzard, etc) has a greater impact on how good the game is?
If you buy a stinker from a publisher will you buy a subsequent game from the same publisher?
What is the favorite game you have played in the last 24 months? Why?
Will you buy a game on impulse if it is connected with a license, such as Star Trek and Star Wars, which you enjoy?
Does the game’s genre strongly influence your purchase?
What is your favorite genre?
If you read a glowing review, will you buy the game?

Status : Online | Greetings,
Done it... I really doubt adventure games will take the top places... now-a-days everyone rushes for RPG's or 1st person shooters Adventure/Point'n'Click were always may favourite, although I'm a big fan of Unreal Tournament... I even got in a clan . But oddly as it may seem that kind of games don't impress me at all... I haven't quite figured out how I like UT so much! One thing I know for shure... adventure games are the best
