SPOILERS HERE! IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS GAME YET, SLAP YOURSELF FOR NOT DOING SO, BUY IT, PLAY IT AND THEN COME BACK

I know I'm probably flogging a dead horse by bringing this topic up, but I have to mention what an amazing game Amber is.

What an amazing feat to produce fear in the confines of an almost static-image environment. I'll never forget the shiver I got when an invisible hand scrawled "Join Me" on the bathroom mirror.

On top of that, the design is flawless and brings a certain depth to adventure games that I don't see very often.

The day after I bought this game, I emailed the Wimmers via the Amber website to tell them how awesome their game was as well as hopes of seeing a sequel. Frank Wimmer responded shortly after thanking me for my words of praise. He also hit me with the stark news that a sequel is not going to happen. Man, what a drag!

Indeed!  Pity there will be no sequel.

Deleted UserI am overwhelmed with excitement.  First Jonas and now Mr. Lipid.  My friends from The Schedule of Releases are popping up all over the place.

Amber was a beautiful game and it had some serious haunting moments in terms of the spirits you encounter.  Too bad that the Wimmers abandoned game development - they are a talented team and I would have loved to see another effort from them.
I think that the game development industry is very tough... I also loved Morpheus (another game developed by a team of family members) but they, too, had a rough time despite a great product.
I think that adventurers are a rarity - those of us who appreciate the elements of story, character, and intellectual/emotional experience over technology and special effects...

Hi All,
Amber is one of my favorite games ofall  times, next to Tex Murphy's UAKM, and I too was disappointed to learn that there was not going to be a sequel.  I have played that game at least three times and will probably play it again before the year is over.
