Once again, it's been a little while since I've seen this kind of thread, so I figured I'd take a roll call.

I'm playing Gabriel Knight 2 for the first time, and counting myself as fortunate. Jane's usual good writing (if not acting), lots of video, and non-frustrating  game play. All the GK goodness I've come to expect so far, and I'm sure I'll have a lot to say when I'm through.

I loved GK2.  Sorry when it was over.

Currently I am playing:

Discworld Noir  *wonderful, don't want it to end
A Quiet Weekend in Capri  *need a long stretch of time to get back to this one - hopefully soon!
The Longest Journey (2nd time)
(Just finished  - The Omega Stone)
(CSI - somewhat boring)

Still adventuring after all these years!

Patiently awaiting The Last Crown: Haunting of Hallowed Isle, and Bracken Tor...

... and Asylum if it's not tooooo scary...

Deleted UserCurrently playing "Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers". The game is quite interesting and involving so far (funny and creepy sometimes) but the clock puzzle and some tedious pixel hunting at times has been a huge disappointment and distraction from enjoying the game.

On the clock puzzle *SPOILER*:
.
.
.
I translated the poem, saw the connection between the snakes and the dragons, set the clock to 3:00 and dragon icon to 3:00 as well (since logically Three Dragons would be at 3, no?) -- nothing happened. Found out later that the dragon has to be set to 12??? Doesn't make sense at all. I realise that their idea of 3:00 is for dragon to be set to 12 but it is wrong, IMO, soooo wrong! It's three dragons and not twelve dragons after all... I assume they were trying to to say that it's 3 o'clock and not 3:15, so it has to point at 12. But it is still wrong, IMO, since it could've opened only at 3:00 and not, say, at 3:15 but with the dragon at number 3. Personally, if I made the puzzle, I'd open the clock with the dragon by the number 3 and not 12. Anyway, that was a huge disappointment.

*END of SPOILER*
.
.
.
Oh, and pixel hunting at the crime scene is quite unforgivable too, considering how bad and pixelated the graphics are, even for its time... Still, the story pulls you in and is very involving, so I'm trying to forgive the game's shortcomings so far...

I'm playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 right now...

My adventure gaming self is currently on hiatus... I just got to Slade's apartment in Tex Murphy: Overseer and frankly, I love the game but... it's a bit scary right now. Yeah. I'm a wimp. I know...

I just finished The Crystal Key. (And I was not impressed >
) Next I'll be playing Road to India, and Dust: A Tale of the Wired West. If it works on any of my computers, that is.

I agree with adventuredog about Discworld Noir.  It is a fun game with a unusual plot twist in the middle,  interesting and colorful graphics, very nice voice-overs and great storyline.  Lewton (the private investigator and star) is an almost perfect character.  I don't think that this game received nearly the recognition that it should have.

Deleted UserMy 3 French games arrived and I installed Kama Sutra. Fortunately, my French is up to it.
Isn't it interesting that many people are somewhat shocked when they find out I play adventure games (at YOUR age?!), but when a friend spotted the Kama Sutra box next to my computer he immediately wanted to know if he could borrow it...

I played for about an hour. So far it hasn't lived up to my expectations, I'm afraid. "Well, what did you expect, it's porn... " I can hear you cry. Yes, it's porn allright, but it's more like a comic book than a computer game. Mostly static pictures and silly doll-faced men and women. Oh well... I'll have no problem selling it.

Tomorrow I'm going to try Monet. Aaaahhh... finally!

i just finshed Post Mortem and wasn't all that impressed.
the plot was nice but it had no mystery, after the cut-scene in the alambic you immidiatly know who the killer is. and i hated the interface - i like to move freely. also the game was easy and it only took me a day and a half to finish it. and the voice acting is horrible( at least the english voice-over are). i can't understand how this game got good reviews.

but soon after many angry latters to the local game distributer i will , hopfuly soon, be getting TLJ, so i will finally get to see what all the fuss is about.

meantime i keep myself busy replaying Grim Fandango.

If you mean adventure games, Gabriel Knight 3 I guess.  I just got it for 4$ which is a great deal.

Outside of adventure games, Doom 2.  At another forum I go to, there's a group of people including me that just started playing Doom 2 online starting yesterday.  My gaming is a little off though because I was just on vacation and all the games I was playing, I stopped playing and I'm trying to back into the groove of things.

Deleted UserI'm playing Atlantis: The Lost Tales at the moment. Not very impressed with it yet. It' one of these RSI-inducing Cryo games where your cursor doesn't move but your screen moves around the cursor, which means that for every movement you have to make this large sweeps with your mouse. Besides that, the character you play is rather annoying with his habit to almost close his eyes when he's finished talking. I think that without that habit he'd find other characters in the game much more helpful.

Did you like it so far (I'm still not sure if I should buy it or not)?

Playing Civ 3.  It's great, but the endgame takes a year just like it always has.

This weekend I finnished to replay Phantasmagoria 1.
The last chapter was built in a wrong technical conception.
When the game memorize the preveiws steps, depending the number of the places or steps you go, at certain time, there are NO more RAM memory in your PC( obviously, all that FMV scenes take lots of RAM.
I face this problem in the final sequences....when the machine wouldn't be able to reload the saved game.....So the only soluction was veiw the preveiws chapters option in the menu interface to continue and finnish the game.....What a sacrifice!!!!!

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to say here, but I'm pretty sure it's not how things work.

Currently on Chapter 3 of Discworld 1 - haven't had much time lately to play it and keep loosing track of what I'm supposed to be doing, still it's a good game, but very hard - never used hints and walkthroughs this much ever I don't think.

Much as I'm enjoying it though I'd have to say I preferred Discworld Noir, maybe because I played it through without all the breaks I've had with this one and I didn't think it was anywhere near as hard either.

Discworld Noir has gone right to the top (almost) of favourite games along with GK2 & 3 and Tex Murphy.

I'm currently (trying) to play 9: The Last Resort.  I was having fun up to the part where I entered the Tiki room.  Then the game keeps crashing.  Haven't had time to troubleshoot the problem much.

I played Space Quest 0 a few days ago. Got stuck because of a guess-the-verb action. Perhaps I will pick it up these days and try again.
I replayed Discworld two months ago, but stopped and never got around to continue. The time, you know, my worst enemy.

Am playing at this time: Monkey Island 4, after having finished Monkey Island 1-3 (naturally, I like to play everything in order, otherwise I might miss certain links to previous instalments).

I'm finally getting close to the end of Tony Tough.

Just started Road to India.

Stuck part way through Syberia.  I'm in the train station at Barockstadt (sp?) and the guy on the boat is about to throw a chain to me and it crashes.  Everything was fine to this point.  I only have an 8 MB video card so I'm betting it's related to that.
If anyone has a saved game right after that point they could send me, I'd appreciate it.)

Sitting on the shelf waiting I have Traitor's Gate and Schizm.  I usually don't have any games backed up waiting, so it's an odd experience for me.

At certain time in the final sequences, the game simply crashed.....freeze. Was impossible to load the saved game.
The PC need to storage unlimited FMV sequences, so, it's natural that the game would be freeze (insuficient RAM).
If you don't find the correct path to figure out Victoria Morsell persecution, if you try and try several...several times.....there are lots of RAM required to reload the preveiw saved game.  Is the only explanation that I have in mind.
