My name is Anti A. Danilevski and I'm making video games. Glad to meet you all!

We're making a - 3D space adventure, quest and ARPG, in hard sci-fi genre, with real-time combat and click-n-go controls. It's a mix of the spirits of such games as Star Control, Elite, and Space Rangers; this is simple gameplay comparable to Dark Orbit, with excellent, up-to-date three-dimensional graphics somehow comparable to Eve Online.

When I'm saying 'good graphics', I actually means this

The action of the game takes place in a universe resembling our real world as much as possible: stars are located just where they actually are. We had to spend several months developing actual astronomical data and building a universe based on them. After playing it, you will know once and for all where the sun is located in our corner of the universe, which stars are closest to us, what their spectral classes are, planets... and much more.

Beside that, we have a deep scenario and world design (it's almost USP nowadays). We built our scenario based on current research. It's somewhat a prediction of the possible future - we are developing an educative game.

Video from the early alpha: reminds you anything?

Why I'm here, just registered and already posting this? There are two reasons:

First, I'm gathering feedback and opinions. This really helps me to make a better game and realize if something is wrong. Thanks to some people I've already made few corrections. I've just joined, but that doesn't mean I'll throw my post and disappear.

Second, we are now on Kickstarter, and this is where I need your backing, if you want to play a game like this.

I'm not going to give you any links because I, myself, hate spam. Besides, I and have a really bad experience with it - at the beginning I was naive enough to create big beautiful threads with many pictures and videos, information... good read, quick bans.

So, I ask permission to share link to our campaign

If not allowed, well - we can simply discuss our game and development!

Best wishes,

- Anti

Judging from the gameplay video, it looks like an X series type of space sim game, which is not my cup of tea.

While the graphics look amazing and gameplay looks very nice, i'm afraid i'll get bored rather quickly.

Correct me if i'm wrong but...

What i'm looking for is a space sim game that allows planetary exploration, seamless planetary landings, discovery of alien civilizations and full descriptions of planets and space stations. I honestly don't care about the scientific facts, i'm looking for a game like freelancer that created a galaxy full of lore and wonderful things to discover.

This is just my opinion though, because i'm sure there're a lot of gamers craving for a space sim like this.

ps: i'll back this project on kickstarter anyhow http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dodogames/divine-space-sci-fi-space-arpg?ref=live

Hello, thanks for sharing our link

But I have to correct you. First of all, it's not a sim. Not at all, because sim = cockpit (first person) view, we have click-n-go + 3rd person view.

Your requirements for a space game is too high for an indie team. If we would have few millions and 50+ people working in company, this would be possible. But I have yet to see seamless landings and planets simply because on modern videocards it's impossible due to floating point precision loss. They simply can't eat such sizes that is required for what you want to see.

About getting bored, I totally disagree. You don't get bored in Star Control II, Space Rangers or Dark Orbit. Such game, in 3D and real-time, with deep, wide narrative - boring? Not at all.

But if you are fan of sims - yes, sorry. We are making a different game for a larger auditory that don't want to master skills in arcade FPS view. For people, who care for storyline, characters and their relations, travels and adventures.

This looks really interesting. just watching the viewing of different planets and galaxies makes your ship feel like a goldfish in the ocean... seems so massive. Always a plus for me. I'm happy when i'm not going to conquer a game in 3 hours time

That's the plan

I want players to return to Divine Space as I return to Star Control II or C&C, and play it over and over again.

But we are in a better situation - we can release updates and add through them new scenarios, ships, areas and etc.
