.... it is easier than just clipping kids around the lugholes....

 

I don't hear words like that used out here.

 

But recently I hosted a German girl for a few weeks whose life had been totally kidnapped by her mobile phone and facebook to the point that no matter where she was or what she was doing, she was never really present.

I could be wrong, but I think it's informal British for "ear."
