I am good & proper stuck

It's not an easy game - and sin addition, all speech is in Hungarian and the English subtitles flash by too rapidly for my very bad eyesight This does not make it any easier

I posted a comprehensive 'Help' S.O.S. on the 'Hints & Tips' forum – please access it !

But according to the paucity of views (and no reply as yet) it seems that not too many members access that section frequently ?!?

Perhaps this will reach a wider audience ?|?

At any rate – VERY MANY THANKS IN AVANCE FOR ANY ASSISTANCE !

Hi Len,

I read your message in Hints and Tips.

I remember having trouble at this section too. From what I remember, it was the only part of the game where I needed to use a walkthrough!

My problem in getting to day 3 was that I neglected to do something that I needed to do before completing the line puzzle. Did you find Yoomurjak's first message in the cellar already? All I can really suggest is going back through the walkthrough and checking that you have done everything.

Many thanks for taking the time & making the effort to reply, and so quickly.

Bears out my assumption that not too many members access the "Hints & Tips" forum frequently !!!

Thanks a bundle !

Before wring my 'Help-S.O.S.' I suspected the same problem & hence solution as you did above !!!

However I thought it might be something less ominous &/or that somebody could send me a savegame immediately after this game stopper !

However I think that you are right unfortunately since going back is a very unpleasant solution.

It is almost like a DEAD-END which is one of the worst bugs possible (after nearly 20 years of beta testing I have encountered MANY of those - and had them eliminated !!).

There is no way of knowing how far back I have to dig - there are well over a hundred locations and actions  to examine.

For all I know, I might have to return right to the begining of the game - several hours of (unpleasant) slog work

UGH !!!

Hello Len,

this was indeed a hard part of the game. There are many pre-requisites for the solution to trigger, including looking at objects in the antique shop and public library that do not otherwise appear to be interactive or of importance. So while I can not help you with what you have to do, I will be happy to send you a save game just after that particular puzzle is solved.

You can pm with an e-mail so I can send you the file. If you are uncomfortable doing that, I could try to upload it to a hosting service like rapidshare, but since I have never done something like that, it's a hassle I would rather avoid if possible.

I have already returned to TWO locations which seemed to be promising and did everything possible at then both in order to stumble on the missing item –  but this did not help in either case !.

I do not feel like replaying the WHOLE of the game from the beginning – the missing action or dialog (out of maybe hundreds) could be ANYWHERE – and to be perfectly honest, I do not find the game thrilling enough to 'enjoy' repeating it again !!

So your offer of a save game is absolutely marvelous and I thank you VERY  SINCERELY

The IDEAL place would be immediately or very shortly BEFORE the 'intercepting red line' puzzle.
But immediately after that puzzle and BEFIRE phoning Juli or even afterwards at the beginning of Day-3 would be excellent (or more than one !! (The saves are incredibly small !!!

My address is as follows :-

Once again – sincere & heartfelt thanks !!!

Many MANY  THANKS !
Not everyone is prepared to devote time, patience & energy to practically helping another player (and JA member)!!!

I received your savegame on Hotmail  - but due to the pain in the neck Hotmail gives its subscribers these days there is a small hitch.
I replied and explained this to you and I'm certain that it will be corrected very shortly.

I am almost 100% certain that it is the absolute ideal save and couldn't be more suitable.

Thanks once again and best regards ---- Len.

Mr. Innocent

Not experienced or worldly;

One of the several dictionary definitions of INNOCENT is ""Not experienced or worldly; .

At least as far as games are concerned, the opposite applies to you !

As I thought :-

Your savegame could not have pin pointed the EXACT point in the game where it was needed,

I am almost 100% certain that my stuckness was due to some single small  action I had overlooked previously , out of VERY many !!!

I am now continuing the game which I would not possibly have been able to do without that save - other than starting again from the very beginning (which I would not have been prepared to do !

Once again (for the last time !) THANK YOU !!!

You are welcome, Len

.

I hope you will be able to go on with the game, the issue with the fast moving subtitles is not going to become any easier I'm afraid

.

Still, I enjoyed Yoomurjak's Ring, and  I hope you will to

.

Tjhere are a few what are known as "Memory-bugs" throughout the game (not serious)  !

Also some save-game glitches !

With regard to the latter, having only 8 save slots is a disadvantage – although by saving batches of saves I have collected about 80 saves from the first half of the game alone and hence have experienced these shortcomings !!
