I still am nowhere near finishing the first installment of the Witcher but there are some cheap deals going on Amazon at the moment so I thought I'd take the opportunity now rather than wait.

So my question is- version 2 or the Enhanced edition?

If you have a fast connection, then the cheapest one. All the latest patches and such can be downloaded, no matter the version. Enhanced Edition is the latest release, and contains the huge enhanced edition patch, so if the price difference is very small or you don't feel like downloading a several GB large patch, then go for that one.

What about the premium edition? I don't really care about non-game bonus stuff- posters etc, I just want the most extensive gameplay and extra quests possible.

I can't be bothered with downloading anything...

If you don't want to d/l the game and want a boxed version then the enhanced edition is the way to go.

The Enhanced edition is free to d/l from the other version but since you don't want to its the version you need to buy then.

Thanks for all the advice. The price was so close that I bought the Enhanced Edition, specially as I found out that the download was 10 Giga! Which seems rather ridiculous.

Hi Maum! Now that you own the game you can also get a free code, from GOG, check this link: http://www.thewitcher.com/backup/. Besides the digital version of the game, you get a lot of digital googies (artbook, soundtrack, comic, etc).

I think you made a good decision, since that patch is huge, and since some people experienced hiccups with it here and there.  I have yet to finish my second playthrough with the enhanced baby.

The only downside is, your carrying weight cheat doesn't work with the enhanced ed. anymore!

I should check and see if someone had made a new cheat in the meantime.
