Does anyone have a save game after the slider puzzle in Black Mirror. I just can't solve it and it's random so no help available. Also I cannot seem to find where my save games are so some help with that would be helpful too

I'd have to go and search on one of my external drives to see if i'd kept saves for BM.  ..but have you tried getting a save from this site yet?    http://www.savegameserver.com/main/downloads.php?g_name=Black+Mirror&g_id=82&PHPSESSID=174ea594715bc6a8d4e580ec74e7e7aa

If you are using 7, your game saves might be here:   computer / system: c / users /'your name’ / appdata / local / virtual store / programfiles -/Black Mirror/ Black Mirror data

Note:   Make sure you have 'hidden' folders set to visible, i'm not sure if that's a hidden folder or not.

Thanks I got through that eventually. But................... this game is driving me completely nuts! Apart from it crashing regularly and I have had to go back several savegames to get it to continue I am now at the beginning of Chap 4 and characters I should be able to interview have "disappeared". I had to look at a walkthrough to check but I was doing the right thing I am supposed to talk to Herman but he is invisible (can't cross the morgue as Samuel says "He will see me" but he's just not there). Nor is Morris in the stable. The first time I tried to talk to Victoria about James's letter she was in her room (as the walkthrough said she would be) But when I tried going back to a previous savegame to try and get these characters to appear Victoria was in the common room and now Bates is nowhere to be found! Also the camera is back in the drawer in Samuel's room plus alot of other inconsistancies (Like the scroll map of the manor is still in the library) The whole thing it driving me crazy! I cannot progress any further as I cannot "see" the people I need to talk to. Is this just in the download version or has anyone else had this problem? HELP!!!!!!

Hmm.  I do vaguely remember a bug, but it was only one bug as far as i remember. Though i played a disc version of the game, and it wasn't too hard for me to overcome whatever the bug was (Can't remember exactky what it was, - it might have been that someone was 'missing' which i think had to do with me doing things in the wrong order?)

Have you patched your game up to the latest patch?

Also, it might be that your problem also has to do with that one has to do things in a specific order, but i'm not sure about that.

Where did you buy your game from?

It's a download from JA which I did only last weekend.

I followed the walkthrough to the letter as I thought that might solve the problem. I have been back several times and done it over again but still no joy. I know I need to speak to Hermann in the morgue - he speaks when I press the doorbell, says he's in down in the morgue and, as I said, Samuel can't go to the other end of the morgue room as he says "Hermann will see me" but the character is simply not there!

Although I cannot find my savegames (as I said in my previous post), having located the file location there is  folder called "patch" so I assume that is the patch you mean. As I've only had the game a week I assume it's the lastest one.

I was also one of those who had problems with A New Beginning when Bent was stuck in the bathroom....I don't seem to have much luck with JAs downloads!

Are you still trying to play the game (Black Mirror 1)?

If you're still trying to play the game and need a patch, (I don't know if this link is allowed here at JA, but here goes...) I found some patches here at Black Mirror 1 patches

When I was having trouble with this game (after first installing it) I used these patvhes and it worked for me.

Also, I believe some games are known to have problems running in Windows 7. Since Black Mirror 1 doesn't require 3D graphics (I recall playing it on my netbook, which does not have a 3D card and it played fine) perhaps you can either play it in a Windows XP virtual machine, or if you have Windows 7 Ultimate you can run it in XP mode.

EDIT - my copy of Black Mirror 1 is a hard copy (2 disc copy).

Thanks for that. I've downloaded the patches but to be honest I'm not sure I can be bothered with it now. It's been so long I can't remember what I was doing! I have so many savegames and overwritten so many, trying to get the thing to work I can't even figure out which was the lastest before I encountered the problem. Also because of all the other glitches I mentioned where things are back in place when I've already done what I needed to, it's difficult to work out what I've done and what I haven't. I may go back and start the game again sometime. It's a shame because JA has good games but I'm a bit put off by my previous experiences.

I appreciate the reply tho and thanks for trying to help.
