Sorry initial post got lost or not posted. It's been a few years since my last forum activity and I likely have some rough edges. My question was to try to compare the PC and iPad versions of "Yesterday," the new game from Pendulo Studios. Borrowing my wife's iPad, and initially feeling there was nothing there for me game-wise, I decided to try "Yesterday"  since it was only $4.99. I am most impressed. The story is clearly very dark, literally and figuritively, but also involving and with the distinctive Pendulo character depictions, captions, and fine voice acting. There's a hint system in place, as well as ability to show "hot spots," most helpful with the small screen. An hour in, the game seems very well done, and I am curious what, if anything, we might be missing from the PC version which, ironically, I don't think my PC can run.

Have any of you played either version? Oh...btw...I may have to get my own iPad if these kind of games become available. "MacGuffin's Curse" is next up for me.

Hello Dave,

What a pleasure to see you here !

Your above post is empty - My guess is that you haven't yet mastered the somewaha different 'mechanisms' of the new JA.

It took me a while - but you'll VERY soon master it.

I don't want to vbe nosey - but IIRC you are v*VERY* much a veteran & experienced computer games player.

Cheerio for the time being,

      All the best ------ Len

A veteran & experienced computer games player can't master pressing some keys and 'Submit Post'??

My assumption was that it's his first post - and the Mods need to review it first. Could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time

What?

Thank you, Len: Although very old, now, my post did show initially....not sure where it went. My basic question related to enjoying very much the iPAD 2 version of YESTERDAY, and wondering if it differed greatly from the PC version, which I don't think my computer will comfortably run. The iPAD 2 version is only $4.99 at this time. Thanks, and BTW, Len, please see your PM section for a message from me to you....

Come now SirDave !

It's not like you to treat a new member of JA (or possibly a returning REAL veteran) like that !!

Dave Fisher **IS** both a veteran and a **VERY** experiencence computer game playe !.

Have you (or I) posted at least a dozen reviews of computer games on the NET and ALMOST CERTAINLY TWO or THREE DOZEN reviews - as has DAVE ?

Incidentally I hope he doesn't mind if I mention here that he is now in the middle of his 70's and still playing on PC, iPad!, consoles - who knows what !!!

My comment was facetious and not directed at Mr. Fisher, but rather at the conflicted premise that an experienced computer game player would be confused by JA's rather straight-forward post-entry method. Point being that the loss of the post was more likely due to some glitch rather than poster confusion...

Actually Len, I wrote a lengthy review of Portable Gaming on JA some years back, wrote several adventure gaming articles for the online magazine Adventure Lantern and for several years maintained the only manual (online) for the PocketPC/Windows CE ScummVM project which described how to set up many, if not all, of the LucasArts AGs (and a number of others) on Windows-based PDAs.

Some examples:

(Or one could say that, 'If Dave is your name, AGs are your game.' Sorry for going Off-Topic. Back to regular programming.

AFAIK – Dave Fisher has written & 'published' a large number of computer game reviews stretching back a good many years,  I don't know how many – but certainly **MANY**.

Like you, I have uploaded only ONE review on JA but many YEQARS ago I 'published' 4 or 5 reviews on "Qhandaryland" and a similar number of articles.  Of course I have uploaded several dozen walkthroughs in various places.

I think that qualifies me as a veteran and my previous post implied CATEGORICALLY that you are also one of the steadfast veterans – details about either of us  are not important.and not intended at all !!!

All the rest is trivial and superfluous – I think that we should welcome Dave happily  with open arms and absolutely no reservations, whether he is a veteran or not – although actually he certainly **IS** an old-timer computer game player and great contributor to the Adventure game genre

THAT'S ALL !!

The ipad is becomming a major source of adventure games - and at affordable prices too. I've played a few ipad adventure games and was impressed by the graphics and how well they played - no bugs of any kind that I could see.

Especially impressive of late has been the iPad version of The Last Express. It seems to fit and play so well that it's hard to believe the game is as"old" as it is. Most highly recommended.
