The gaming industry is constantly looking to improve their market and increase sales, we've been seeing a lot of 'new' ideas lately, like free to play, kickstarter, dlc, etc.

 

Now steam has come up with something similar like kickstarter, only this time you can't invest any money yourself.

You can 'vote' for a game you want to become available through steam, and more importantly to convince others to vote as well.

Any developer can add their game to the list

I think it's a great way for developers to know whether or not their product will sell or not, and it will allow feedback of gamers early on in the development process

it's a win-win for both devs and players.
