I found an old savegame I had of Anachronox and it has made want to play it again. I installed the game as well as the 2003 patch that I found online but it still won't start. When I try to launch the game I get a message telling me the application has stopped working. Any tips?

Seriously, anyone? I would so love to play this game again without having to re-buy it!

Have you tried changing the opening properties of the main executable? For instance you go in and tell it to run in windows xp compatibility etc.

You might find some useful ideas Here.

Links to the files aren't provided but if I recall they aren't difficult to obtain. They might be here.

Personally, If I ever wanted to re-play the game I'd cough up the $5.99 but I do understand your point of view.

If I buy it can I use my old save games though? If that is the case I would then re-buy it.

However as my save games were made with the old game I am worried they wouldn't be compatible.

If no-one here knows, and you already have a Good Old Games account, you may get an answer on the Good Old Games Anachronox forum.

If you can upload the save to a file hosting site I'll try it.
