See below how to know you do have an addiction

Give a man a rod: He will sit on a boat and drink beer all day. - USA Network

Adventure games are more than just a break, to me, anyway. They take a lot of brain power and are literally like "living" a movie or book. Not just being a bystander, but actually walking through and affecting the environment and determining the outcome. I think I wrote about this years ago but have no idea where that would be now. I still think adventure games are marketed in the wrong ways to the wrong audiences. They can appeal to the existing gamers as well as people like Mom's at home, etc. They should be marketed in magazines at a hair salon, for instance. Book club peoples could get into adventure games, also. The genre needs to be put out there more widely. Plus, there are studies that show this type of gaming that engages the brain in a variety of problem solving areas keeps our minds sharper than not adventure gaming.

I think that the idea was to give the impression that playing adventure games might be considered being an escape from our everyday lives where things might either be boring at times or too frenetic at other times, and therefore we play adventure games to esconce ourselves in a personna of the avatar we use to have an escapist holiday for sometime by living moments and situations that pleasure our minds, imaginations, and emotions. I would see it more as giving my life a mental recess by sliding into my imagination of worlds undreamed of.
By the way...Good to see you again Lady Kestrel, and Val....I love your ship

ShadowWalker! Long time! Great to "see" you! Yep, awesome ship from a series that should never have been cut down... and so early. Yet we have so much trash that has taken it's place... like wrestling on the scifi channel.
