Let's hope your right Chris, but the numbers are what they are.

Yes, the traffic is down a bit for many different reasons. Now we're back working hard to make JustAdventure the best it can be. We have high hopes that the amazing community that was and still is JustAdventure will help bring the genre back to the former glory days of the late eighties/early nineties. Tell you friends, JustAdventure is back!

I've been having issues up-loading images [on the screenshot thread]. Last week loaded screenshots vanished from the post after a few hours, this week an immediate "HTTP 500 Server Error" blocks me from even trying to upload. Others on the thread appear to be having difficulties with seeing/not seeing things as well...

Thanks for all your efforts so far.

Yes, I also can't upload any images in any thread.  It would really be nice if that can be fixed, since we like showing each other what we're doing in our games, as well as the screenshot thread.

..but anyway, it will be really great to see old content such as the old reviews and walkthroughs back again, since I sincerely believe that is what draws many people to a site such as this one, especially people who are into older games and retro gaming.  That's the reason I joined the forum, - I joined after many months of just checking out the reviews.

Yes, image upload is being worked on, it should be fixed shortly.

All of the old content is being added to the site as well, the problem is that even after creating several different scripts we just couldn't get the old content to transfer over so now we're doing it by hand, one at a time, unfortunately this is a slow process.

I agree Trav...the reviews/walkthroughs had me visiting the site for years before I became a member.

OK now I understand the issue here with the images. I was just inserting them, sort of SOP for me, and not uploading them. Guess I'm not so special after all.

Is there some kind of problem with the way the forum counts active viewers, or has there been some heavy promotion for the site?

Now there are 3809 guests here. They must be coming to see me.

Seriously, I have no idea if there's a problem with the number active viewers. If there isn't, that's a *lot* of guests.

I noticed right now the number has tripled.

I am curious as well. Who, or perhaps I should say what, are these??

I recall the old forum stats where typically the number of guests was within the same order of magnitude, mainly comprised of people like me who preferred to spy lurk about.

By the way, I discovered today that we can move the text-boxes used for entering new posts, and scroll the thread in the background while said boxes are visible.  Those are both rather neat features, and potentially useful - thank you for them. ^_^

MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

*ahem*

Sorry.

..and I see Requiem has a new avatar...

  Thanks, Requiem.

I do hope this means we can upload images again.

Any word on why I can only post comments if I use firefox but not when I use my usual brower IE?  I may be on version 7.  I've kind of lost the will to post comments because so many of them have disappeared and it took me several days to switch to firefox as an experiment.  I know I sent a couple of pm's about this but perhaps they disappeared too.

I have not been able to post for over at least a week using Explorer 8. When I hit 'Submit Post', nothing happens. I'm posting this with my iPad which I don't ordinarily use for posting (no regular keyboard).

My previous attempts to post using IE8 was on my Fujitsu laptop. I just tested it on my main desktop computer using IE8 and I can't post with it either. These are both WinXP computers & the 'highest' version of IE WinXP can use is v8 so my guess is that no one with IE8 on a WinXP computer can post with it on JA at the moment.

Thank you for this information SirDave. We will have our programers look into this.

I'm mentioning this in case anyone else might be having the same problem. In the general scheme of things, it's no big deal to me.

I'm very grateful to once again be receiving new post notifications via email. However, the links in the emails aren't taking me to the posts in question. I end up too far down in the thread.

Using a little trial-and-error, I've discovered that this is due to the font size I have set in my browser (Firefox 9), which isn't exactly gigantic but is apparently enough to affect the proper display of the posts. If I knock the size down a notch I'm taken to the post in question.

But this makes things difficult to read, so I have to bump the size up again. Or, I can just keep the font size as-is and look for the proper post once I get into the thread, which is easier.

This isn't happening in IE7, which I use exclusively for back-up.

Looks like IE10 works as well (although I am unable to add a smiley)

Sorry, you must wait at least 30 seconds between posts.

Please try again shortly.

Seriously? This is quite annoying, 30 secs is a long time between posts

I lowered this to 15 seconds.

Hi SirDave, can you try posting in IE8 now? It should work.
