Pictured below are the covers of 12 classic rock albums.  They have been altered only to the extent that the titles and artists have been removed.  (This was much harder than it sounds.)  How many can you identify?

I tried, but none of these look even vaguely familiar to me. How "classic" are these? And remember, I'm an old rocker .

They are all from the 60's and 70's.  Except for #9, which was released in the early 80's.

Well, the 60's & 70's are definitely my era and rock my genre so it must be my memory that's failing. If no one guesses these in the next few days, I'd be very interested in knowing what they are.

#5 should be incredibly easy for any old rocker.  Almost all of this band's covers were designed by the same person.  Possibly only Hipgnosis was more influential in album art at the time.

You're wrong on the Pink Floyd, but it's a common mistake.

#5 is absolutely correct.

#8 is actually entitled "John Barleycorn Must Die."

#9 Close enough.  It's called "Come Dancing With the Kinks."

#4 may be either The Moody Blues or Jethro Tull.  Pretty good chance it's one of them.

#12 is correct.

#2 was an easy mistake.  But the PF cover shows a cow in a field, not a close-up of its nipple ring.

Given the disaster that this quiz was, I won't bother with any others.

You're absolutely right. I should have known at least 6 of these!

Well, it's official, I'm now a senior citizen.....

And re the phone call you mentioned: Now here's another mystery that I'll probably never figure out.

This is obviously abandoned, but in any case, 3 is Iggy Pop - Brick by Brick and 7 is Dio - Holy Diver.
