Funcom, of The Longest Journey and Dreamfall fame under the guidance of Ragnar Tornquist has been working on an ambitious and remarkable MMORPG called Secret World, it is due to be released soon and it may indeed be a milestone in MMORPG development. Many may not know it but Funcom created one of the longest running and first MMORGs called Anarchy Online. It is a sci fi based story and they developed a lot of the technology and interface methods that are now common. Secret World actually has a lot of the elements of the TLJ and Dreamfall worlds without the magical side.....and from the screenshots it is a beautifully crafted and detailed world. After they get it launches and underway successfully, Ragnar has promised more chapters for Dreamfall.

I've been watching this game's development, on and off, for what seems like years now. It actually looks pretty interesting. I'm happy to hear it's nearing completion -- I hope -- so that the venerable Mr. Tournquist might turn his attention elsewhere.

Hehehe yep we keep bugging him and he keeps making promising noises back...  Funcom has put a lot into Secret World and the pictures we have seen are awesome, it looks to be top quality visually and the story line is based around various groups or roles that you play as a player, and they are releasing info about them montlhy to build interest. As they have run Anarchy Online for ages now, they do have a lot of experience in doing MMORPGs...but as such those dont interest me as much as single player games and i do hope he will get back to Dreamfall asap.

they are accepting applications for the beta for Secret World, it wont be out for some months but the previews at game conventions are getting rave reviews from lots of the reviewers.
