It is a survival/horror game, with more of a focus on the survival & horror bit than almost all other survival horror games out there. You have a weapon, but you are not supposed to use it much, instead the game is more about surviving and avoiding the enemies, while trying to solve some problems.

Currently I am playing Dreamweb and Amnesia. And Silent Hill Downpour on PS3, but that's not an adventure game (and it was pretty disappointing too)
You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

That was Saint's Row 3... most hilarious text based adventure ever. best if played through for all endings (including deaths, youll know when you see it) on that little side adventure

It looks good for a game from its era, but there are so many unfair deaths (like go to the wrong area and something that you could not in any way have foreseen pops up and kills you). The whole game feels like if someone lacking Don Bluth's talent tried to make Dragon's Lair into an adventure game. Not that I really like Dragon's Lair either, but I prefer it to Kingdom: the Far Reaches

If I recall, I preordered it in March, with the release date set for October. Sounds ordinary enough except that was 2003! So I'm slightly dazed but excited to finally have it at long last. I've only had the chance to dip into a few puzzles, but the early going looks very much like the variety of puzzles I loved in The Fool's Errand, along with of course a challenging metapuzzle at the center.

I've been playing The Fool and His Money fairly steadily for nearly 2 weeks. Everytime I think I've got everything figured out, another wonderfully sneaky section pops up to be solved. It's a marvelous bundle of brain-boggling fun!

I just started this last week and I'm hooked. Every spare moment at home is spent whitling away at the puzzles. They are so much fun.
Question : is anyone playing this full screen? When I do so (800X600), it cuts off the bottom icons even when I adjust the monitor.

Ah, yes, I know that feeling. "Woo hoo....finally solved it! What the...it's morphing into another puzzle! D'oh!" But I'm really enjoying it like I've enjoyed few games, particularly the all the different kinds of word puzzles. Haven't quite got the hang of the auctions and haven't warmed up to the card games, but I expect that will come in time.

That would be nice, but I hadn't tried it. I got the impression from somewhere (though I can't recall where) that it was meant to be played windowed. A bit annoying, but I've basically gotten used to it.

Wow, you did that in a couple weeks? Very impressive! Glad to hear the ending is good also.

I'm still on my first Tarot! I admit to having difficulty with word puzzles. I'm more of a math or spacial logic type puzzler. I'm still having fun, though.

Thanks! Yeah, he looks like my favorite kind of cat -- one of those big, lazy, but affable sort of tabbies.

Status : Offline | I've started in on a neglected little series of pure sci-fi theme games from the late 90's: Majestic, Symbiocom and Zero Critical. I'd started Majestic when it came out years ago, but didn'd get too far. Now, it has a lot of retro point-n-click feel and my interest is re-kindeled once again. The other two are more or less sequels and look very interesting, and I'd never even played them at all. Zero Critical switches to a mouse driven 3rd person point of view, but so far I'm comfortable with the switch in perspective...
I've re-installed all 3 on one of my W98 retro computers and am set to go...
