Status : Offline | I want to reiterate this is a friendly invitation, not an inquisition. I respect and hope for the best from the new staff members being brought in, we have a strong and warm community here, and have for many years enjoyed the finest in coverage and support for games of all knds but most specficially adventure games and the adventure game genre. The internet is a wonderful open and democratic forum that greatly facilitates sharing across many boundaries. One of the most interesitng features of the net and forums like this one that we enjoy here is that people from all walks of life and backgrounds can connect and communicate about topics that they find of common interest, and this forum and forums like this greatly help that sharing. Use of mods and admins is a great help to keeping this sharing flowing and workable.... and I hope for the best from the new hands. It is important for the mutual respect that enhances that sharing for those who are in authority in a group like this to be known at least by forum name, and to be experienced and chosen for that role for such experience, for it is a demanding task and one that is greatly aided by skills on the technical side as well as the people side.
And above all, trasnparency and openness help for it makes us feel included and part of a continuing commuinity that we have ourselves created through our posts and sharing over many years now. It is that shared fellowship that has created this fine site and the rich resources around adveture games that few other forums and sites can rival. I hope to see all that continue and would like to welcome to our sharng the new "faces" hence this thread and this invitation.

All that shouting of "Heretic!" and "Witch!", all those hangings and burnings upon stakes, political machinations and above all the corruption and hypocrisy hanging in the air like a London pea-souper while men of ill-begotten power grind their opponents in the dust and wax poetic in bass voices about justifications for wholely evil acts. Ah, I love Verdi---though Don Carlos didn't have any shouting or hanging, but burning at the stake was suggested, which is pretty fantastic.
Seriously, though, some introductions would definitely be nice! It's always better to be able to put faces to names, as it were---or even just names to background actors. No one really wants to be known as merely "Royal Herald", after all. Sure, his name might have been something dinky like Horace Worblehat or utterly incredible like Kris Kristofferson or---better yet---Benedict Cumberbatch, but I suspect his name could just as easily been something as typical and approachable as Bob, and I bet he could solve complex logic puzzles in no time flat. There's no way to know unless he says hi, though.
You know, I think it might be time I got some sleep...

What are you spaced out on, man! I hope you haven't been smoking something... You know what happened to me when I started posting and playing with my CP when I'd had flu meds mixed with a bit of wine eh? 6 600 posts went BANG! ...and I regret that night to this very day.
Nevermind, I suppose you'll be feeling quite sheepish enough in the morning...
Anyway, all I care about is that our old webmisstress Karla is still amongst the staff. Since JA-STAFF3 is stil here, I sincerely hope so. As long as our old staff stays, I don't care how many new people appear, as long as they, like Chris says, have some regard for our long history and tradition here at the forum.

Sorry for the late reply. We've been swamped working out kinks on the new design, making improvements & trying to get ready to launch the new store. I think some of this has been addressed in other threads, but here are a few more bits regarding the new staff.
I personally have been around the adventure game scene for many years, lets call it 15+. Some of my favorite games are The Longest Journey, Runaway & Syberia.
TheOrc has been around adventure games since the good old days of Zork, I know the Space Quest series were some of his favorites.
JamesDee loves the Kings Quest series.
DrewG & Support are here mainly for programming & general support for the site. I really dont know their favorite adventure games - Guys please chime in when you have a chance.
Karla as you all know is our resident expert in the adventure genre. Randy, Karla & all of the other wonderful moderators & community members have made this site & forum what it is today and we have no intentions of trying to change that. Here's to the next adventure & many, many more to come!

Status : Offline | Caroline buys a HUGELY expensive chocolate cake to send to the forum's new owners as a thankyou greeting. However she discovers that the process of turning real chocolate into virtual chocolate in a digital format that the internet can transport is rather longer and more complicated (not to mention messier) than she imagined. Several hours and lots of nibbles later, she finally gets the settings right and dispatches some digitized calorie-free chocolate to Digitize.

Hope you like it!
