A new look for the new board? I seem to recall that Grim Fandango is one of his favorite adventures.
Yep, I picked Manny because he's personifies one of my all-time favorite adventure games (and because I didn't see a way to add my standard game-forum-profile image of Woody Allen peering upward quisitively).

Status : Offline | Shame you guys, an here I've been whining about my old lost post count. (Which was a good almost 7 000 posts, mind you). However, Terry and SirDave never had their accounts deleted, as far as I was aware, and Inland ... I can't remember how many he had before. I do think Ivinia and Andromus were slightly up on him IIRC.
I remember at a point there was only Ivinia, Sir Dave, Terry and Caroline who had a higher count than myself. Then I passed SirDave by and only Terry and Caroline were left, and Terry and Caroline were pretty close in count. I was third and SirDave was fourth.
Looking at your posts counts now, it certainly seems as if there's a liberal amount of them gone...
Now I can't help wondering if that would be because your oldest posts have been archived, (you know, like from around 2003 and 2004) and the software only counts the posts directly atrributed to your names.
The latter scenario (archived posts) still wouldn't explain the suddenly boosted Caroline phenomenon, though...
I wonder if there are other members who also gained posts,(well, via other methids than actually posting) and if you were to view all the posts, if the right ones are still attributed to the correct people? Very puzzling......
Oh. well, Post count Schlost count. Who cares, anyway.
Nice new Avvie, Terry.
EDIT: Ah, the new staff explained about the missing posts in the "Back to Business" thread . I guess those posts will all just say "deleted member" now.
..or "Caroline"

You have to give this post count thing a rest. Think about how you want to be remembered someday. "She had a high post count" would probably not be at the top of your list.

This is true. Even I myself thought I've been getting pretty immature about it. Guess it's partly tiredness and exam stress. ..but also, many gamers have a built-in competitiveness, and I guess that partly was also what was kicking in. Pretty silly, eh?
I'll make my peace with whatever happened in the past, and wave it good beye.
Here's even a little hug for Caroline.

Oddly, our post counts stayed the same when the old, super-active Politics & Religion forum was eliminated.
If that hadn't happened, many of us would have seen our totals greatly reduced (in my case probably by half or more at the time).
No big loss though. The community is better off without all the fighting and hurt feelings over hyper-sensitive issues.
Cheers, Terry

maybe those posts were made invisible and have been deleted permanently with the recent changes, that might explain the big reduction of your post counts?

As Supreme Goddess of the Galaxy, I shall of course decline to comment on such an accusation.
As Caroline I shall just point out that everyone has been in a posting frenzy this past week and will soon be sharing my exalted view.... so I'd better finish off my chocolate before you all start demanding some of that too....

The old forums crashed because of the way it stored the messages (flat text files). It was an old old old outdated forum. I recovered what i could but it wasnt 100%. Many posts where lost or have lost their authors. I spent many hours trying to find a way to resync post with their authors but its just not possible.
Whoever, if you find some old posts that say "deleted member" and you know they are yours, send me a PM and i might be able to match them back up to your account (not all, but maybe some).
If you have any questions, comments or concerns about the new website please send me a Private Message!
