I may be terribly gullible but I think that Debbie isn't acting and her obsession with cats is very real: "I love their alert ears, their eyes, and their little noses..."
I think the timing of her lines is near perfect and insanely funny. There are much worse things to obsess over than cats.

I have been away for a while and shall be because right now I am going through a serious situation that is turning my world upside down.
Nevertheless......Mark.....I work in a psychiatric emergency room.
If she is not acting....she would be a slam dunk for admission to the wards.
Do not need that....got enough troubles of my own right now.
She is cute....but not cute enough to overlook her "problems" if they are real.
Furthermore.....I am NOT a cat person.
