Many thanks for the info. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise even though I'm sure Bioware has my email address and therefore they could have informed me via email but I saw nothing.
I've never tried to download anything of this magnitude (20 hrs) but I'm giving it a shot.
Oh pity, when my nephew drops by after school to play his MMORG he is going to be very disappointed.

You read my mind there, CB! Well, I already have ME2, so I guess EA owes me some free DLC...

You can't be that demanding on me.. you know the time dedicated to gaming is quite restricted... I do what I can! :'(
This to say that I'm only in the middle of Act 2........... :-[
Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)
Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.

Oh, I'm sorry, Ines, I didn't expect you ro be finished already. I probably spent too much time on the game, and also got through it so fast because I didn't play any of the DLC. ...and anyway, if it makes you feel any better, because of spending too much of my time on the game I got behind with my work and studies, and I'm really suffering now in trying to catch up.... :-[ - as a matter of fact, I'm racing against some deadlines right at this very moment and I only peep in to JA when it becomes time to take a break.
I only asked because - you know, I'm interested in hearing what you think, but that is not to put pressure on you! So I'll hear from you guys when I hear from you, and I aplogise if you felt as if I was putting pressure on you, that's not what I had intended.

Ah! don't worry, I was just kidding.. But yes, if I could I would play much more than I do. Long gone are the times I spent long afternoons playing without any guilt or remorse. The thing is, as I don't have much free time, I always wonder, how should I spent this precious time? And my mind says, you shouldn't spend it on the computer, where you already spend you're time writing, so I go for a walk, or I read... and in the end, I get to play like 2h max by week! I even gave up on GTA because it's too time demanding, the way you can only save after you finish the mission, etc. Oh well...

After about 44 hours, I'm all done. And not going for a second play through.
I very much enjoyed the first 10-15 hours of the game, then it all went pretty sour.
The missions felt shallow; the re-use of rooms/dungeons/caves was completely distracting and seemed to be a dev shortcut to quicker development; confining the entire game mostly to Kirkwall (not THAT interesting of a place to keep you there most of the game); half of the companion characters were booooorrrriiinnnnggg - I dug Isabella, Varric and Merrill - while all others were 1 dimensional and uninteresting; enemies were mostly reworks of DA and not nearly as threatening or epic; fights were too fast and had an 'over before the started' feel.
Just very disappointed in the whole game overall. After the immense pleasure I had playing DA, I - like many others I see - had high expectations for DA2 that were ultimately dashed.
Too bad. Could have been so much more that it was...
I will say, though, that graphically it performed beautifully and the environments were gorgeous. Oddly enough (and maybe it's my sour attitude towards the game) but the character models seemed to be lesser quality than in DA...
On to Mafia 2...
Playing: Skyrim: Dragonborn/Dawnguard; Torchlight 2; To The Moon; Far Cry 3
Finished: HomeFront; Far Cry 3; Dishonored
Always Playing: Half Life 2
Looking Forward To: BioShock: Infinite
Reading: BioShock: Rapture; SW: Revan

Baldurs gate 2 & Icewind dale are both quality games, along the same line, and after playing through those, you should be prepared for Dragon age Origins (though the best of that line of games is Planescape Torment, but it is very different).

Wait a minute, did you download all the official patches, and which class (origin) did you play? ...and how far in did you play? One of the patches made "Easy" a lot easier, but besides that, the game does have a spike in difficulty more or less around the battle of Ostargar. It lightens up farther on, and it gets a lot easier towards the end. It's also important which areas you visit first. Some areas are harder than others.

Surely you must still be able to - would it even be legal if you can't? Surely they can just legally stop new sales, not block games already sold?
Well, as far as I'm concerned, Bioware is now officially dead. May they (or the memory of what they once were) RIP. :'( ...and I'm truly, truly sad here...

I'll do like I did with Ubisoft while they were doing their stupid Assassins creed 2-style DRM, I won't buy any of their games until they start behaving again. And I won't sign up for Origins, I already have a steam & a gamers gate account, that is enough for me.

Let's hope Larian studios will also remain in the business, though they haven't been all that prolific, sadly..
I'll boycot that darn EA out of principle, and I feel so upset/angry now that I'd better shut up. :-X
Darn, but I must admit that I really really liked DA: Origins the game..... So sad about Bioware...

There will probably not be any more Drakensang games (and most of the people who worked on drakensang left the company when it became clear what they would have to do).
Larian Studios claim that they are actively working on a (possibly 2) new game(s). Hopefully they will continue to make quality games, and also listen to some of the criticism against Divinity 2 (people, me included, thought that it was a bit too long in compared to the amount of actual content. If that is peoples main complaint about a game, you know that it is good though ).
Also, CDproject is working on a new game, right?

Downloading on steam remains possible even if the game has been removed from the store. There are quite a few games that have been removed years ago.
I do hope they still release Mass Effect 3 on Steam >

Why can't we just go back to the old days of proper expansions, instead of these cheap to make/cheap to buy DLC offerings, that hardly adds anything to the game (like the infamous horse armour)?

Are they? Have I missed an announcement? They've been doing well, though, so I suppose they will, if they're not already.
Dang it, that's very very sad about the Drakensang games. I was hoping the German /European market alone would be enough to to keep it afloat...

I do hope they still release Mass Effect 3 on Steam From what I've been hearing, you might not be so lucky. But I don't care. I'll not buy ME3 from the EA shop; there are enough other shooters out there to keep one busy.
Which reminds me: Deus Ex Human Revolution is releasing next month, eh?
