Status : Offline | Hehe, now I know I'm watching too many movies/reading/gaming - probably because I try to push as much in into my spare time that should have been reserved for sleeping...
When I played Fallout 3, I kept dreaming about supermutants and in my dreams, I kept telling myself that I really have to kill that nasty supermutant, but he just wouldn't die, and the whole thing would keep repeating and repeating.  Telling myself I should kill him, trying to kill him and failing).
Two nights ago, I really had a strange one. I'd just finished reading a book about a torturer, and I watched some of the mini-series Avalon before going to bed. So I ended up dreaming that I am this tribal Celtic wench (who resembled the torturer's girlfriend in the book), and my husband (whom I hardly ever saw because he was off fighting most the time) was a mix of the Torturer, Geralt of Rivia AKA The Witcher, his hair tied back and face painted with blue paint like those of the tribal Celts were. The dream took place at night resembling some of the fighting scenes in the movie.
I really found this dream strange, because in RL I prefer nerdish type men, definitely not the he-man macho type that would be represented by a Celtic swordsman... :
Have any of you had any similar dreams regarding especially games?

Status : Offline | When I was playing Ultima Online (1999-2004) I would often dream about it. Most dreams would start with me playing the game, and then I would, at some point in the dream, be my character (there was a transition that I never really noticed, from playing the character to being him). I roleplaying in UO, and I played the same character all those years (with 2 side characters, that I only used for special events), so he was like a second me, which might explain the dreams. Since I stopped playing UO, I also almost stopped dreaming about games.

I have dreamt of visiting some of the beautiful places in games, like Arni village in Chrono Cross, and Tomahna as presented in Myst IV, but not much beyond that.
Now that I think about it though, I think have had dreams about Jessica, alumna of Lunar: Eternal Blue. Needless to say, they were a little weird. :-[

Status : Offline | Jessica, hmmm? ... but she's so cartoony... Perhaps not quite so weird, however. There was after all that Korean man who married a pillow of his fave anime girl? Hmm? :
Doesn't she feel a a bit flat though? you know - 2 dimensional?
Ah, wait! Do I remember something here? Do I remember Mr King professing a certain disdain for blondies?
Was beeg mister Keeng speaking with forked tongue on that? [smiley=detective.gif]

I did dream hanging out with some videogame characters, but not the actual world/gameplay. They were simply there with me in the 'real' world.

In fact, I dream this once in awhile. Probably due to my younger days imagining this kind of stuff.

Admittedly, Tetris is pretty immersive.

But i often dream about playing a non-existent game. Those games are a lot like Fahrenheit or Mass Effect, but the impact I have on the game world is much more obvious and substantial.
When I wake up, I really feel terrible, because i won't be able to play that game again .
...
I did have some nightmares about tetris blocks trying to crush me But I've never really played it

Indeed, dreams about horror games must reeaaallly be the worst kind you get... [smiley=shudder.gif] The worst I've had in that department has been the supermutant dream about Fallout 3.
Ones that I've had that have been rather bothersome, because they also tend to go in circles like a stuck records, are dreams that I dream about strategy games. They would be "nagging" dreams, where I keep feeling I have to do something, but I'm not sure what.

The only one that comes to mind at the moment was the time I dreamed I was searching through the wreckage of the restaurant at the start of Broken Sword 1 when I looked out of a window and saw the funeral procession at the start of Syberia.
Next thing I know, I'm in Valadilene on Oscar's train and I'm hiding in the back because I know Oscar is searching through the cars to find me and kick me off because I don't have a ticket. And then I'm standing outside the train as it starts off....Kate says something like "Wait for me here until I come back", and then I'm running after the train shouting for them to stop.
And interestingly enough, it came one night after we had a discussion here about dreaming and adventure games.

Do you mean me, Taurnil? :-? If so, I didn't receive any new PM's in the last week or so...
If you meant someone else, my apologies, but you didn't give a name...

Overdosing tends to do that to people...
