Have found not way to do saves in this game and so every time I leave it and return, have to start all over again.  Where am I missing he save feature? :-?

Unfortunately, there is no manual save feature. The game saves your progress automatically. But not your character's position in the game -- you always begin at your home upon starting a new play session.

On starting the game after playing, you return to your Relto, where you then go access your last book on the shelf, and if you touch the journey cloth page in the book, the game returns you to the last Hand or journey symbol cloth you touched.  Once you get used to it, it really is no problem. Just quit for the night after you touch a journey cloth (in URU it is the hand, in CC it is the swirl).

Yep as Halycon describes very well that is the closest thing to a save, the cloth in the book, there are only a few places where you lose important progress in the game if you dont complete a section..lilke the Chasm Jumps in Gahreesen....long a tough place for me.

There will by the way be new ages sooin
