Despite your flagrant spoiler, Trav, that giant is not friendly to me.  I've been all over the map 3 times and I think the friendliness could be related or unrelated to a questline.

But please use spoiler tags, everyone.  I didn't ask for help and don't want it.

Um, it's not like he's part of a quest or anything.. he's just a curiosity along the way as you walk along... why should there be spoiler tags for that?   But ok, I'll put tags even if for some reason i can't understand it bothers you that much....

No, the friendliness is totally unrelated to any questlines, as far as i can see.  Does your giant stand next to a mammoth that's lying in the water?  You can't talk to him or anything.  He's simply unresponsive and doesn't attack you on sight.

Geez, people maybe we should define what spoilers are?  You get to see what the game looks like on the cover of the game when you buy it...  You get to know it has dragons in it from the intro to the game...  why should one cover the fact that there are some giants who aren't aggresive?  I think that sepcific giant that Dona  and i and possibly others experience as "friendly" is simply a bug.  I think he's not aggresive because his mammoth got stuck in the water.  I don't know if this was something that the developers intended.

We should either put spoiler tags over every single thing we post then, from now on, or people who don't want to know anything about the game, should avoid Skyrim threads...

Anyway, sorry for just trying to be friendly.  I think I'll stick to GR from now on...

Just on my way back to that first town and ran into him, at first I assumed he would be hostile likle other giants if you got too close, but when I got near him he didn't raise his club like other giants or anything. In my game he had a cow that he followed around lol.

Spoiler tags spoiler tags please Stiler!   I don't want to know that I was supposed to Spoiler Alerttalk to some king or about Spoiler Alertthe cow!

Spoiler AlertNo, this is a different one that I'm talking about, mine has a mommoth that lies in those hot springs. The cow must be an easter egg.

I posted a pic of that Giant on Nexus some time ago and other people comfirmed they've met him. So maybe it's just random, who knows.

Suppose I might need help, which in this case I do. Should I put all of it within a spoiler tag? I'll just hide the location and see what happens. Spoiler AlertDushnikh Yal: Orc Stronghold

Yes, as this would be my last chance for training before the cut-off. The problem is more serious though.

Spoiler AlertAside from an Elder Dragon the location is deserted. WTF i.e. where's the fun? Nobody to be found in the tents or the bunkhouse. I did find several miners in the mine but even after I gave them considerable gold they wouldn't offer any help or explanation.

To the best of my knowledge I can't think of anything quest-related as to why this has happened.

If it is a bug I can't find anything written concerning it.

I wish I could remember precisely where I was but it appears that around 55 hours earlier I must have done something really ugly in order to earn a Tribal Orc Bounty of 5000.  Oh well...

Ouch.  Now I'm burning to know what that really ugly thing was.  Spoiler Alert(Did you pee in their drinking water?)

55 Hours earlier.. really 55 hours?  Ouch ouch ouch.  I wonder if you could ditch 'consequences'  just this once and make use of the console?

Spoiler AlertMaybe you could cheat yourself the 5000 and just pay the bounty off and see if that helps?

LOL. Perhaps, although you'd think I'd remember doing something so evil. Going back to an earlier save, yes really 55 hrs, I tried to remember what my next move had been but only drew a blank.

Anyhow I've discovered another stronghold that is having a problem with the locals, so I paid the bounty (ouch) and agreed to be of assistance.

Spoilers.  Trav, rather than be snarky, as if you didin't know better, why not start a spoiler-friendly thread and be done with it?

When you've seen virtually everything in Skyrim, as I have, and are on a quest to find something you haven't seen, it's a spoiler to reveal that info.

Just use your common sense and be conscious not of your own view, but of the person you are responding to.

Or, if you didn't know that, perhaps this post should be in a spoiler quote.

Meanwhile, I've been bashed by five giants so far, without finding Mr. Friendly.  Even to be ignored would be a milestone.

Peace friends..lets keep it nice here. We are all enjoying a wonderful game ..and sharing because it is fun to share about wonderful things.   Lets be patient with each other and forgive and forget.

I had a wonderful amazing stupendous literally just mind blowing adventure on the way to a well known location. If you have done the journey to High Hrothgar, then this wont be possibly a surprise but it was to me. I had gone the long way around tried to climb up the mountain with Lydia, and slid back down it on our backsides and stumped all the way to a town that gave access.....and along the way saw some awesome scenery....but i had actualy made the journey up past a certain spot three times and nothing had happened...when....  something did. It was one of the most amazing game experiences i have ever had in any game..and it was tota chance i was taking screenshots and enjoying the view..when the something started to happen..and I got pictures...once in a life time picture...of the entire things. It was and will remain one of my most cherished events in any game i am sure.

I made a zip of the pictures and if you are brave enough to want to see them even if you may not have seen this, i will be happy to post a download link from my archive. If not, then dont. It may happen to you and it may not i am just not sure. what a wonderful game with such thnings that can happen. and everywhere such beautiful beautiful scenery. one pic...and then well, i wont post the others as it is something as i said that may or may not happen., and it is remarkable and amazing how they have created in this game what i always dreamed might happen in games and stories ..and did here.

Colpet already started a spoiler-free thread called Skyrim.  Why don't you rather stick to that one?  I like visiting the threads that have what you call "spoilers", because with an open-world type game like this one, I don't care about little things like that there's a blue fox or a purple mammoth or a giant that doesn't attack somewhere.  The only kinds of things that are spoilers to me, are things pertaining to quests.  That's how i would have thought it would be for everybody, but I obviously was mistaken.

How many Skyrim  threads must we have?  (There's already 3)

Only, even if I started yet another Skyrim thread, you'd come into and start posting about things that YOU view as spoilers.  I never took much notice of that giant, except as a sort of landmark, i don't see what the big deal with him is, he just stands there.  Exciting, huh!   ..and it's not as if i even pointed him out on a map, i basically just hinted in more or less which area i saw him, for pete's sake..

How is : "between Whiterun and Windhelm" a spoiler?  That's a pretty large area, the last time i looked...

When you've seen virtually everything in Skyrim, as I have, and are on a quest to find something you haven't seen, it's a spoiler to reveal that info.

Just use your common sense and be conscious not of your own view, but of the person you are responding to.

Halcyon, I was simply trying to be nice to you.  The snarkiness came from you. I'll not make such a mistake again, I don't know why you bothered mentioning the giant in the first place if he's a spoiler.  You didn't place spoiler tags over your first mention of him, did you?  So why is my mention of him a spoiler then?  I honestly just don't get it.

Anyway, that'll teach me a lesson for simply trying to be nice.  They say it takes all kinds to make a world..

Honestly, I don't know why I even bother visiting this forum anymore.

Meanwhile, I've been bashed by five giants so far, without finding Mr. Friendly. Even to be ignored would be a milestone.

Can't you get that this is a random game.  So random events happen. Mammoths fly up in the air.  Dragons get stuck. Not all creatures and events are scripted, so random things happen. Like giants for some reason not attacking you on sight.  ..and mentioning random events that happened to you, is usually not viewed as spoilers.  Anyway, I'm just wondering why you don't need to cover with spoiler tags, the exact same things that I am required to.  Whatever, I'm not interested in an arguments, I have other places to visit where the people are more friendly.

PS, and I have more exciting things to do than standing in front of a giant that doesn't bash me.  Big deal.  *yawn*

Trav, calm down. It's okay :[ I'm with you on this, that's not really a spoiler (and I'm usually the one to shriek at spoilers). And I'd rather we don't use too many unnecessary spoiler tags, they look awful on this forum...

Speaking of random events, a dragon bugged out on me once. It just curled up when I was beneath it and stared at me upside-down, it was bizzare. Faendal took care of it while I took screenshots : D

Speaking of Faendal, he died :[ I usually reload, but I let him be this time. Such a stupid death, by a group of Falmers. Now I'm waiting for a mod to be finished so I can have Iorveth, recruit him and live the ultimate fangirl dream of having him as husband XD

Ha, well if you do manage to find someone who'll make a mod like that for you, why don't you ask them to include Geralt, and I'll play either as him, or him as my companion.  And to make things even better, he must have a silver and a steel sword and be able to do all the W1 combat moves.      ooh, the idea of having Geralt as a companion...  sets my imagination going there..

say... you're an artist aren't you?  Why don't you make character models for Iorveth and Geralt?  I'm sure Chris can give you some pointers, I think he mentioned doing art/models for TES mods before..
