Let's just hope that it won't be a City Interactive-like fiasco (i.e. fantastic visuals, awful game).
Oh, and 44 eur? You got to be joking.... (it's the price that comes up when you click on the game box)

By the way, what do you guys think of the cover? I must say it's one of the ugliest gamescovers I've seen so far... Sam looks like Mickey Mouse...

Most new games are in the 40-50€ category, and if this is indeed a big budget game, then i'm not surprised to see that price tag.

I've hesitated to say anthing, but I was one of the testers Jane Jensen mentioned a couple of months ago, and while I can't really say anything much about it, I will say I'm not worried about the game's final quality.

I've stopped being too emotionally involved with great graphic stills. That, to me, is a base requirement. So far, so good.

If you check out play.com and amazon.uk you will see that all newer adventure titles range between 20-30€, 33€ max, and that is WITH shipping. There is absolutely no reason for Gray Matter to cost 44€, except for trying to cash in on the Jensen name.
To be fair though, the 44€ price tag is what you get when you go straight from the GM website. At play.com it goes for 33€ at the moment - still high, but at least within the range of other adventure prices.

If an AG is given the big budget game treatment, then it is no surprise that it will be marketed and sold the same way as other big budget titles.

They are in this for a profit, not to recoup their high salaries or having to replace a voice actor three times. The more they sell, the more they will make. A high price tag is not relative.

The price is a bit higher that I imaged, but I don't spend much on new games anyway, I'll probably end up buying it shortly after release.

I just wish AG's could get the proper marketing because I believe they would do so much better say, if there were an actual commercial for them on Television. I know, I know, costs a fortune but I believe it would change everything. I have to say probably 95% of the people I know that game really have no idea what an AG is. :-/

Online, they are, as you pointed out, a lot cheaper than in stores. In stores, you'll pay 40 € for an adventure at any time - at least in Austrian stores, and depending on the game. There are new titles you can get at 20 € but some, like Black Mirror 2 or Memento Mori, are sold in stores at 40 €. I know. I paid that price for either game *g*

There is no such game called Gray Matter by Jane Jensen, and for that matter the whole project has been nothing other than a hoax since the get-go. No no, that’s not what I’m saying but read on with amusement as this other particular person pathetically attempts to plead this case on the Gray Matter site forum and gets shut down. http://forum.dtp-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?f=120&t=16060

The bit of sadness in the story is the very thing that makes it powerful, poignant and touching. There are touches of light and happiness, self-discovery and hope in there as well. The amount of mystery makes it interesting - nothing like mystery to make something more intrigueing, don't you think?
Life itself is not all happiness and light, but a balance of happiness and sadness, good and bad. If we keep turning our faces away from what life is in its fullness, we only experience half of what life has to offer; and sadness and loss is part of life and has to be faced if we are to embrace life fully. It's the yin and the yang; the two sides of the coin. Light also brings shadow. Love and happiness intrinsically carries within it the thorn of the possibility of losing it, which would cause pain and darkness... so what I am saying is that you cannot have the one without the other. To choose neither the light and the shadow that goes with it, is to choose to live a life-experience that is just a gray flat line.
I can of course not say too much, but I believe that the story is very good. :-*
