My son played Heavy Rain (he's a literal Halo champion) and loved it so far. But what else is made for PS3 that is any good? Not much. And Xbox kicks its graphical butt.
As good as they are, I just don't feel the console wars are over or that they reached anywhere near their full potential.
I dont mind gamepads. Actually I was born playing consoles, from the old Nintendo, to Mega Drive, Sega Saturn and Playstation 2. It's only in recent years, that I have my own computer that I've been dedicated 100% to PC Games. Thus the nostalgic tone towards Playstation 3 and its games.

Give us a console drive for the PC and I'm in.
Well, there are ways to play console games on the PC, up to PS2 if i'm not mistaking. As far as I know (though i'm not 100% sure), emulators are legal, as long as you actually own the games themselves.
Yes, all of us over a certain age grew up playing consoles, mainly because PCs were barely around. As needs and games grew, and the PC evolved into the rest of our personal and business lives, it only made economic sense to stick with one solution. Plus, games looked much better on PC, since console gamers were stuck with their TV sets for the most part.
My kids, over 18, grew up from Nintendo and Mario to their current Xbox 360 and its 250GB hard drive and great online Live play. The only drawback is their television display. Soon I'll get them a real flat panel TV/Monitor.
My kids are also terrific PC gamers. They work a keyboard and mouse unbelievably fast. But when friends come over, it is consoles and side by side play, often 8 at once. Very cool.

There are also us older forum members who were already out of college and totally involved in establishing careers, getting married, starting families, buying homes, etc. by the time the early game arcades, consoles, text adventures, and MUDs arrived. So we didn't get into interactive gaming until later in life.
In my case, I dabbled a little in text adventures and MUDs after hours at the office when our first wave of Macs arrived. Before that, I played an occasional game of Pong or Pacman on the old, coin-op, tabletop units found in bars, pubs, etc.
It wasn't until many years later after affordable Windows PCs became available that I discoverd Tetris, which led to lots of other action puzzlers and my first foray into retail PC games including Myst, Sim City, Civilization, Doom, and what's grown into a very long list of others.
Far Cry 2 was an amazing open world fps, but now that they've added crafting, fast travelling, interiors and wildlife, this game looks more fun than ever.
I am looking for FC3 as well, I was a bit disappointed with FC2 (I hated the vehicles really) and I'm glad to see the hang glider returning in FC3.
For me thought my most anticipated game is Assassin's Creed 3. I have played the others, but the series was starting to get a bit too comfortable with itself. Thankfully AC3 is the next leap up, AC2/Brotherhood/Revelations have all been following Ezio's storyline and the gameplay/setting hasn't really changed much. However with AC3 it's pretty mucha ll new things.
The main developer of AC from the first game started on it years ago, it's the longest in-development AC game and they buitl from the ground up many new things for it. Things such as new dual wield combat, to the ability to FINALLY climb trees, to rural area's, to seasons that change over time (IE fall/winter/spring/summer, which changes in the game , so you might visit one area then later on come back and now it's got snow covering it, then later the same area now is green in the middle of spring), to wild animals, naval combat, new animation, new engine, and best of all the new setting of colonial America that takes place during and after the revolutionary war and follows a new assassin (Connor) who's half Indian/half european.
Video showing off some things:
I think Crisger might like it, since they have spent a ton of time in regards to historical people and events in the game and tried to make them as accurate as possible (apart from the fictional story of Connor). People from George Washington to Samuel Adams and many other classic American and English figures during that time.
Surprised to say that I'm waiting for this one, not with the eagerness of others but i'd like to try it. The first game turned me off so hard that i had no intrest in the others until my 10 year old brother-in-law had me play revelations for him for 10 minutes. it was considerably more fun than the first and the third looks to be interesting. That and I have some native american in me that I am quite proud of so this may be interesting to see

A bit worried about Deep Silver being the publisher, they have a history of sticking StarForce on things. Granted, the StarFroce of today is not nearly as bad as the StarForce of yesteryear in terms of what damage it can do (StarForce is the only DRM that I've had problems with outside of when I've tried to play a specific game containing the DRM). And if it is a Steam game, they will hopefully not bother with StarForce.
Is there absolutely nobody else looking froward to Dragon Age 3 or divinity 3: Original Sin ? ( I have to use a lower-case 'd' to avoid a smiley apearing. )
I'm re-playing DA : O so that I can do the DLC, in anticipation. I know that I kinda hated DA2, but...
Yeah, I'm a sucker.

the fact that they've went open-world and are aiming to take on The elder scrolls has me excited to see what they do, I just hope they don't lose what made DA
so good (characters, interaction, choices, good tactical combat, etc) which DA:2 seemed to miss a lot of.
