There are a lot of potentially great games coming out , including some games from my favorite series. So i'm curious, what games are you looking forward to that (probably) will be released in a not too distant future?

My top 2 would be:
Thief 4. The thief series has always been one that I have enjoyed a lot. While each game in the series has had some kind of serious flaw (and each game in the series managed to replace the last games flaw with a new one), the games as a whole were incredibly good. It's one of those series that I often talk about, simply because of how much I have enjoyed playing them. I have even played trough all 3 games multiple times, so when eidos announced a 4th game in the series, I became quite exited. They are also working on a deus ex 3, which I hope will be as good as the first one (I did not really enjoy the 2nd one).

Victoria 2. Victoria: an empire under the sun was my favorite game among all the Europa Universalis type games, as it was the deepest game of the lot, where you had a lot of control over how your nation would develop (it was always interesting to see what the population of a country would be if you focused on healthcare and protection from the get-go. I managed to have more than 11 million inhabitants in Sweden by the year 1900!). Hopefully Victoria 2 will make the game a bit more user friendly, without removing any of the depth that made the original so great. Victoria (with it's expansion) is actually one of those games that never leave my computer, as I quite often feel like playing it. Let's hope that paradox manages to create another great game.

I'm looking forward to the fall and Fallout New Vegas.  The trailer looks great.

Without having a PS3, I'm looking forward to Heavy Rain. I'll be watching video reviews and gameplay segments and pretend I'm actually playing the game. Lame huh? lol hopefully a port will come in the near future.

I am also waiting for Venetica in English. I'm lost in terms of release dates, they are always changing, so I'll keep wating and one day, maybe I'll have a surprise!

Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)

Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.

Do you know, perchance, if one can play Venetica as a male?  I would bet on "no," but I thought I'd ask.  I just can't play as a female and get immersed in the game.  I just keep following my avie around and don't know why.   :

Heh, now imagine how we girls must feel with the many games where you can only play as a male.. (Gothic, the Witcher, Bioshock, etc.)

I don't think you have a choice with Venetica, because it's part of the story, but will let you know , if i can find out if there is an option.

Anyway, have you ever thought to see it like this; -that you are "controlling" an attractive female?   :
 ...might just be fun...

Trav, I have about five different, terrific responses to your scintillating post, but I dare not.  Still, I thank you for it.

I swear I made a thread exactly like this once  :
I truly cannot wait for Fable III... even though I haven't been too impressed with what I've seen and heard so far, I did love both of the games
the first much more so however). I guess I have a lingering effect from when I visited the Fable I forums almost every single day without fail for over three years, waiting for a release date to be posted. There's something about Fable that just gets me, though I frown on the modernisation and addition of guns and the like to the later installments. I'm so happy to be hearing Fable III will have a real co-operative mode though - I can't wait to play through the game with a friend

Don't worry, the folks over at Lionhead seem determined to cater to your every need.

Lionhead Studios  With the release of Fable III imminent this year we’ve started thinking about different kinds of merchandise for the game. There are literally hundreds of things we can come up with; from mugs and t-shirts to an LCE or books, maybe even branded condoms.

Haha yeah, I saw that also. I stay away from pretty much all things Lionhead and Peter Molyneux now, getting my Fable III info from gaming news sites. I've never bought gaming merchandise in my life and I don't plan to.

I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Just Cause 2, after playing the demo i'm hooked
.

A vast world to explore and lots of things to blow up and cause chaos.

I hated shoot em ups until they introduced free roaming and gorgeous graphics. 8-)

My most anticipated game right now is Red Dead Redemption. It's an open world western from rockstar and it looks fantastic.

See this traikler if you haven't heard of it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEMxSUGZ6TU

Apart from that it;s the dragon age expansion.

Maybe they are too open?

The visual of the game seems stunning! But, a quick search on wikipedia revealed my first fears when I saw the camera angle on the video... console only.... crap.... >

We have yet to have a truly open world western a la oblivion/gothic. Gun was similar but the world was more linear paths with open "hubs."

We have already had a few decent linear westerns (Outlaws, Call of Juarez, etc), so it's time for a strong open western.

Yeah, it's console only atm, but like most rockstar games, I'd bet on a pc version 6months-year away from console release.

They have built up the world with a very interesting AI for all the animals and things that populate the world, as well as having a lot of random events that can happen so the open areas have stuff to see/do.

You can buy/sell goods from furs you collect to weapons/ammo,etc. aaS WELL AS SHOP FPR NEW CLOTHING AND EVEN CHANGE YOUR HAIR,ETC.

it's just that im temporarily studying in Paris so buying a console wouldn't be much of a smart choice

Buy a console? Like a PS3? Heck no! Then it would happen something like this:

http://www.cad-comic.com/cad/20100303

I will stick to the PC, in the PC stuff like this never happens!

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/07/ubisoft-drm-authentification-server-is-down-assassins-creed-2/

Err.... hum.... crap!
>

Just kidding....

In my case, I won't buy a console (at least not a Xbox or PS3) because I totally, but really totally, suck using a gamepad! For me it's keyboard+mouse all the way! 8-)

But really, I truly suck using a gamepad. I only tried playing in these consoles at local game shops and, when I try to use it, my characters goes running around, desperately trying to navigate both him and the cameras, and it ends up looking like a typical character from a slasher flick... and we all know what happens to characters that go running around when there's a killer on the loose, right?

Now, back on topic, I hope that Red Dead Redemption will make it to the PC, but I wouldn't "bet my horse" on it, since the prequel went Playstation and XBOX only.
