Status : Offline | There's a big case in our press at the moment. This millionaire businessman, Herman Rockafeller came home from overseas, rang his wife from the aiport, and then disappeared off the face of the planet. As is usual in these cases, someone thought they'd sold him a pie in some country town. However, his abandoned car turned up and suddenly police held 'grave fears' for his safety.
They found 5 prepaid phones in his car and believed that he was simply a cheating husband. However, members of the swinging scene in Melbourne came forward and pointed police to his secret life. They have since found his charred remains.
It seems this respectable, outwardly happy, middle-aged family man lived a wild double life. His wife worked alongside him in their home office and never suspected anything. But this man had a mistress or would hire a prostitute to accompany him to swingers' parties as well as belonging to dating sites and placing adverts looking for sexual adventures.
The couple who have been charged with his murder are a pair of aging, ugly welfare residents that no one in their right mind would chat up at a bus-stop, let alone drive out to their home in the sticks for an exciting tryst. They sell used cars from the front lawn and have sheds crammed with wrecked parts.
So, all that money, all that energy (the man ran marathons and was quite dynamic, easily bored, apparently) has all served him no good at all. His wife and family must now deal with not only his loss but also the knowledge that he wasn't what he seemed to be, that they weren't enough for him and that all his dirty linen is on every news bulletin.
I think it's fascinating how people can do this but I, like the rest of Oz, must wait until the case is heard in May before we can find out why they killed him.
So what's captivating your local press?

But knowing Caroline and her scandal sheets, spelling is of no import.
Please proofread your posts carefully to see if you any words out.

This is true. I'm half asleep actually. The 'a' in there actually looks a bit odd, evocative of a verb instead of a noun.

A big name football star who got was having an affair with his best friend's girlfriend and got her pregnant and paid for her to have an abortion. Surely it would have been cheaper to just buy a condom.

At work he was known to be rigorous when it came to equality between the sexes in the Swedish police force, he's been on projects working against sexual abuse against children etc. Now it turns out that he's frequently bought violent sex from prostitutes, he's prosecuted for rape and on probable cause (in Sweden a higher level of suspicion) prosecuted also for planning on raping a minor. His family is is shock. They didn't have a clue. Psychologists have speculated that he's been trying to handle an inner conflict (having the inclinations he apparently had) by being so rigorous about equality and fighting for the vulnerable.
Creepy person nevertheless. [smiley=zombie.gif]

Bethany Meanwhile we've been having one of the mildest winters in a while here. I'll happily trade you all that snow, Bethany.
