*edit* The game works a lot better outside of the tutorial, but I just had a battle with no path to the enemy. The battlefield was cluttered with blocking terrain, so only ranged units could actually fight.
That's strange, and probably a coincidence. IIRC, you can actually choose to restart a battle, and it should give you a different terrain arrangement, since I seem to have noticed that the obstacles are generated randomly.
Let me know what you think of the game otherwise. It seems to be a bit simpler than Disciples 2, so I didn't really need the tutorial, which kept freezing for me. I found the battle visuals quite nice, I must say - do yourself a fave and play around with the battle seetings a bit. You can set all kinds of stuff like camera angle and so on.

I prefer the battles to those in Disciples 1 & 2, but I think that most creatures can take too much damage in it, making them needlessly drawn out. Also, the AI does not seem to prefer weaker targets, but will instead attack warriors even if they are within movement range of a mage or healer.
*edit* And it started to crash again. After doing a bit of research, there are apparently a few known problems regarding this game and certain nvidia cards.

I hope they will issue a patch that will resolve your problems for you.

Pondering if I should pick up Ego Draconis instead. The game should have dropped quite a bit in price by now, at least in some stores.

http://www.amazon.com/Seashell-1215N-PU17-BK-12-1-Inch-Netbook-Battery/dp/B0041G5XFQ
Intel Dual Core Atom D525 (1.8GHz); Nvidia ION 2 graphics with 512mb dedicated video memory 12.1" WXGA (1366x76 LED screen; 2GB DDR3 RAM (2x1GB), 4GB Max 250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM); No Optical Drive Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System (32 Bit) HDMI out; Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n; 10/100 LAN; 0.3MP Webcam
These netbooks are quite cute, but I would really miss having an optical drive unless you already own a good library of downloadable games.
If I was in your situation if possible I would wait and try and save a bit more cash and then take a good look at something like this:

and then be right back in the game.
thank you for your suggestion!
actually I'm now leaning towards this toshiba, I think it's a far better investment than buying a little netbook, and its also small (13.3') so still quite portable, which is what I need:
http://www.fnac.pt/Toshiba-Satellite-L635-12J-Computador-Portatil-Computador-Portatil/a327797
Toshiba Satellite L635-12J Intel® Core™ i5-460M Dual-Core 2,53 GHz RAM 4 GB DDR3-1066 500 GB 13,3 ' LED HD 1366x768 ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5430 2235 MB (512mb) Dolby® Advanced Audio DVD±RW Double Layer
It has quite a decent graphic card, I think it could handle Witcher 2!
Anyway, i'll keep you posted!

Amazing how much fun these old strategy games can be.

I ran some tests to see whether my graphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430, 512MB) was good or not, and it passed games like the newest Call of Duty, GTA IV and Crysis, so I should be okay with the new games that will be coming in the next months, even if I have to play some in low resolution.
As for now, I need to recover saves from the games I was playing before all this happened. I still want to finish them before I start playing new games. I may have to start Jade Empire over, but I hope I can find saves for Sherlock Holmes and Gray Matter!

I've been running around Sacred 2's Ancaria for the past 24 hours (not total time; it's been spread over the past week ) I cannot believe this game didn't get more attention - other than the camera that takes some getting used to, it's a gorgeous and well made game. The details make you stop and take a look around every 10 feet, and armor/weapon varieties are splendid! It's a tad easy so far, but I can tell I've barely scratched the surface.
I think ActionRPG is slowly but surely making it's way up the ladder as my favorite genre, overtaking FPS's just a smidge.
Playing: Skyrim: Dragonborn/Dawnguard; Torchlight 2; To The Moon; Far Cry 3
Finished: HomeFront; Far Cry 3; Dishonored
Always Playing: Half Life 2
Looking Forward To: BioShock: Infinite
Reading: BioShock: Rapture; SW: Revan

What really killed Sacred 2 for me right there, was the inability to keep gamesaves. As it is, Divinity 2, which I'm playing at the moment has only about 60 - 100 slots (ok, I didn't count exactly how many, but it's definitley less than 100 or at most 100) ; but I came to my limit quite a while ago already, and it really irks me that I'm forced to delete some older saves just to be able to save nowadays. I'm already having to delete my lvl 11 saves, and I'm only currently only lvl 19. >
So, with Sacred 2 having Zero saves that you can keep... um. So if I make a big mistake I'm either sc***d, or I have to start right from scratch again? ...and if I haven't played for a long time and want to refresh my memory about something earlier on in the game, I can't... No thanks.. And that savepoint system that is similar to that of Titan Quest where you have to run to a savepoint before you can go to sleep for the night or you lose the evening's progress.. grrr! Limiting save slots doesn't make a game more challenging.

Do you use quicksave/load? Playing through the game a bit I tend to quicksave a lot, after a fight or when I find something cool/before a mindread.
Only use the big save slots after a long dialogue tree or quest.
Least you didn't get corrupt saves like before lol.

If I'd known from the start of the game that there were limited saves, I would have overwritten my saves more, but since in both Morrowind and Oblivion (and possibly ME?) your saves start going to corrupt if you keep overwriting them, I didn't overwrite because I thought one had unlimited saves.
The biggest problem for me with this is, that I didn't realise my games weren't being saved. Now that I looked more carefully, it does give you a message to say that saves are full and the save was unsuccessful but that message looks so similar to the message that says the save was successful, that I never paid attention and didn't notice..
Anyway, yes, thanks Stiler, I am now using the quicksave slot for before battles and the bigger slots only before big decisions.

I was going to go on with an AG after Div 2, but I think it's going to have to be Batman!
