I'm a Windows CE guy myself but, like you, I loaded a ton of Infocom titles on as well as my favorite non-Infocom IF titles.
The ability to play-on-the-go is the best part, really. And during those long, boring meetings you can look super-productive as you fiddle with your PDA playing IF. Who'd know the difference?
What's EXTRA cool is the ability to sync-up to your desktop and resume a saved game on your "main" computer and then sync-back to the PDA, continuing your game on different computers. That rocks.

i love my palm, though in a couple years i can foresee getting a pocket pc/phone/modem...something tells me that's the direction the handhelds are moving. and besides, the games being developed for the pocket pc are much more graphics intensive than palm...not to mention the ability to convert the early graphical adventures to handheld, such as the SCUM games from LucasArts.

Yes, the hot-sync feature is really cool. One of my web designers brought that up during a meeting on design. He was listing out features and, being a PDA guy, he naturally made the connection about syncing. It never occuered to me but duh!
You may be right about the direction Palm is taking. At the same time, there are miliions of active Palm users out there and I doubt they'll switch so quickly...

Status : Online | i do love my clie, and i haven't even tried a pocket pc....in the end, for me, what i get down the road is totally dependent on the games being developed. Though I do use the organizer features, i admit it is primarily a luxury item enabling me to be with computer games at all times

I can't really get used to that, I still prefer a keyboard to play IF. So I picked up an old "HP 200 LX" to play with, it has a little keyboard and runs on DOS so there's lots of interps to choose from, including for old games from Magnetic Scrolls, Level 9 and Adv.International. Very nice to play around with, but a bit old to be real usefull for every day use...

I know exactly how you feel; I have an old Sharp Mobilon 4600 (bought it when it was new ($1000!! (SOB!)) and still use it as my PDA-of-choice- because of the full keybord. I'm a little envious you since you get full DOS you get all that extra functionality you mentioned. It'd be cool to play Guild of Thieves on my Sharp... if only I could.
What's interesting is that some folks will ONLY play IF on their Palm/PDA (usually without a keyboard) because of the portability of being able to play literally anwhere (excellent plus). At the same time, your point is just as powerful; IF involves a decent amount of typing which makes a keyboard easier for play value.
I suppose it boils down to the pros and cons of the PDA itself; they're super-duper small but that comes at the expense of a fully-implemented keyboard.
