That sounds like 'Edifice', by Lucian Smith. A text adventure that I started but, I'm ashamed to say, haven't finished. It was good though. Mid-90's, I think.

Status : Offline | Hi, Amylisa, I hope you got that game you're after - you can try Amazon.com or ebay - they always have these good old titles there. That's where I'm currently buying all my older games from now, now that the local stores have long since stopped carrying them.
