Recently finished "Goin' Downtown", a German adventure featuring a disillusioned cop working in futuristic New York yadayadayada - nice but average and no challenge at all. Now I've started to play Dreamfall - finally
I've already reached chapter 3 after not even 4 hours of gaming and am now trying to sneak into April's old room

Still have Riven loaded; and I bought Sam and Max: season one, to play also. Sam and Max, looks like a fun game.

I'm playing Perry Rhodan. The game is just awesome! Sci-fi plot (although I don't understand the sci-fi terms and philosophy completely), great riddles and very nice graphics although in my point of view you need a very good card to play the game at a maximum level. Apart from this everything is great (hope I won't be dissapointed at the end due to a half-explained ending.)

Currently playing "East Side Story". It's not my type of game, but it was free so I decided to give it a go
.
It's nice, but it keeps reminding me why I dislike 1st person node based games. I get lost. I miss items. I have to click about 7 times to get to a place that in real life would take me one second to reach.
It does have a helpful feature that shows the possible exits, but it's still annoying.

The puzzles are ok, but lack feedback - why can't I use this key on that door? Apparently it's too small, but the game doesn't tell you that when you try. This is unfortunately a problem with many games today.

The scenery is pretty. I enjoyed walking around in some places thanks to that.

Just beat The Lost Crown, and I'm about half-way through Perry Rhodan. I'll probably start either Dracula Origin or Jack Keane next.

Crime Stories--very pretty and detailed art, decent puzzles, could have used better writing and jokes.  Voice acting sounds very gay.

Legacy: Dark Shadows--just started it, reminds me of Moment of Silence, got pretty funny prologue.

Just started Spycraft tonight. I like what I see early on; it's a bit like being in a Tom Clancy novel.

Nothing.

Sam & Max Season 1 is put on ice since March. Also started Bad Mojo Redux back then. I guess those are in my signature...
Oh, they are not.

After growing steadily bored with Keepsake (so slow, atrocious voice acting, not just from the merchant, but from ALL the characters as far as I am concerned) I've decided to play Planescape again... And it's as good as I remembered!

Currently playing:  Dragon Age Origins,  Dishonored, The Witcher, Fallout 3, Deponia

When you say it was free I assume you mean that someone gave you a copy? Only the demo is free on the MDNA website as far as I can see..

Making my way through Neverwinter Nights 2, a bit of a chore, but I've heard great things about the expansion Mask of the Betrayer. People who's opinion I trust place its story close to the level of Planescape: Torment, I fear such high praise may mean I'm disappointed by it, but we'll see.

It was on one of those free game sites - the ones that have a free game available for 24 hours. Apparently it's legal - the link was on Gameboomers and they seemed to approve.

Just finished Spycraft last night. Apparently I wouldn't make a good spy. [spoiler midtext]I went with the "arrest the Russian mobster presidential candidate" ending first of all. I won a moral victory, but got fired by that weasel of an intelligence director, and apparently helped to tip Russia into anarchy. Not bad for a days work.  :

But a good game overall. I enjoyed sifting through intelligence for clues, and especially solving puzzles with all the gadgets I was given. My main complaint is that it's on the short side and feels a little limited; I think subconsciously I was expecting the game equivalent of a 800 page Tom Clancy novel, unfair as that is.

My biggest surprise was though was to see the ad at the end saying Thorn would return in Spycraft 2. I've never heard of a sequel to Spycraft; apparently it never came about.   Almost as bad as seeing that teaser for a Timelapse sequel at the end of that game.  >

Still, I wish someone would do something in this vein today. With a completely different geopolitical situation from the mid 1990's of Spycraft, it would be fresh and interesting, I think. It would be a nice change from the fantasy/mystery/horror amalgams we typically get today. And there's nothing wrong with those themes, it's just that they get kind of repetitive.

Oh, and I was surprised to see an actress I recognized from Star Trek. Chase Masterson, who played a Dabo girl on Deep Space 9, appears as a tech specialist. Now there's a change in character!

Chase Masterson a mere Dabo girl?  Surely you jest!  Why, she was the instigator of... of... (oh, god, just the thought makes my lobes burn...) a workers' union!  Blargh!

This reminds me, though, that I need to concentrate on a single game soon; I'm foundering a bit too much at the moment.

Ah yes, I imagine in Ferengi the phrase "workers union" would likely be one of the worse curses in the language.  [smiley=laughing.gif]

LOL, prepare to be bored again!

Been on a casual game kick over here. Nothing really noteworthy at the moment.

I liked Dracula Origin OK. I appreciated having the spacebar to locate inventory. I thought the game spent too much time in Egypt though. It started to remind me of Ark of Time or Broken Sword or something instead of a Dracula game. Also I would have preferred more time be spent "showing" Dracula's origin instead of reading about it -- maybe playing the part of Dracula before he became a vampire, and maybe when he first started turning into a vampire. Has there ever been a game where you played the part of Dracula?

I can't immediately recall a game where you play as the Count Dracula himself; but there are a few games where you do play the part of a Vampire.
Vampire: The Masquerade,  and the "Legacy of Cain" series immediately come to mind.

They both work for me on xp.. don't give up... With riven, uninstall any current quicktime you have and use the game's version.

RiVen and Obsidian worked fine on my PC (XP SP2). The QT tip is a fine one, it is usually the problem. I did play RiVen in the compatiblity mode though.

Amazing how great RiVen graphics still are.

Currently playing Cleopatra, Riddle of the Tomb and Evany. But waiting for GK2 to arrive through Ebay.... (I'm low on story fuel, not getting any from both Tomb or Evany)

I started both "Holmes vs Lupin" & "Reprobates" yesterday, played about 3 hours each game.
Reprobates has really impressive character graphics (talking about FPS quality! awesome for an adventure) and a very interesting plot, but the puzzles and exploration are a bit tedious so far.
On the other hand, Holmes vs Lupin is pure magic!: great puzzles, sound, graphics, plot. Excellent game so far.

Currently Playing: Dracula Origins&&&&Check out my Videogame Music Covers!! http://www.youtube.com/user/SixStringsGeek

Perry Rhodan and So Blonde. Perry Rhodan is interesting but maybe it is a little boring while So Blonde is quite nice and not so easy like it seems. And I stucked both...
