1. The tournament is 8 weeks long, starting on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 12:00pm CST and ending Sunday, November 25, 2007 at 12:00pm CST.
2. If you are reading this, you are eligible to participate.
3. Answers can be submitted via PM if you are a JA+ forum member or by e-mailing agtournament@comcast.net
Rules & Tips:
1. The same game can be used more than once. The fact that Jinxter showed up in week #1, doesn't mean it isn't a possibility in week #3.
2. This tournament will on occasion include Hybrid games. This means you may see RPGs like those from Horrorsoft, certain Survival Horror games, Interactive novels/comics like Ceremony of Innocence, multimedia titles like Weird, etc. Basically, all the stuff that purists argue about ad nauseum on forums... These games will make up a very small percentage of the overall tournament though.
3. There may be an occasional Adult game. These games will appear even less than Hybrids
4. When guessing game titles, abbreviations and spelling errors are acceptable as long as I can decipher what specific game you are guessing. However, when a game is part of a series, the specific game number needs to be guessed. Leisure Suit Larry isn't an acceptable answer for LSL5, for instance.
5. There is no limit on daily PMs or e-mails.
6. This tournament will only feature computer games (PC/Apple/Commodore/etc.). There will be no console exclusive titles.
7. There will be no amateur games in the tournament. All jokes aside about the quality of certain titles, only commercially or independently published games will be included. This means Beyond the Spirit's Eye by WRF Studios qualifies, while Ben Jordan does not.
Prizes:
1st Prize: 5 Games 2nd Prize: 4 Games 3rd Prize: 3 Games 4th Prize: 2 Games 5th Prize: 1 Game
When the tournament is over, each of the top five will pick ONE game each from the list found HERE in order of their placing and then the rest of the games will be picked the next round, also in order of their placing, to the limit of each person's respective wins. This means the 1st prize winner will choose all 4 of their remaining prizes in the second round and so on.
Every week there will be a "Bastich Instant Win" bonus in which a contestant has a chance to instantly win a game, either by luck or by answering additional questions, etc. This is entirely separate from the main tournament and will not affect anyone's scores.
Prizes won via this method will be claimed at the end of the tournament after the top 5 winners have already chosen all their prizes. Note that the instant winners will choose their games in the order they were won (i.e. Week#1, then Week#2, etc.). There is one exception to this. If an instant winner happens to place in the top 5, any instant wins will be chosen with the rest of their prizes
If there are any questions concerning the above, or anything I seem to have forgotten, reply to this thread and I'll update and clarify any such points.
Have fun and Good Luck!

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

That is something that is going to be specific to each week of the tournament and such will be stated in that week's instructions.
For the overwhelming majority of the tournament though, there will be no guess limits. There will simply be point penalties for incorrect guesses.
PMs and e-mails are unlimited.

What about games that have deluxe editions which cost money? I'm guessing the Shivah may be included since it's gone commercial and the free version is no longer available, while the John DeFoe series ('5 days a stranger' etc.) won't be.

Basically, if the game can be legally purchased and comes fully packaged, it counts. By fully packaged, I mean in a box or a case with a printed cover of some kind. A CD in a paper sleeve doesn't count. Download only doesn't count. Also, being included in one of those "1000 Games!" shovelware CDs doesn't count either.
A true independent should be trying to mimic a commercial retail store release as much as is possible given their budgetary constraints to get included in my tournament.
Games published by Malinche Entertainment, despite how mind-numbingly wretched and God-awful the packaging is, still qualify.

I'm going to miss the start of this, though. On vacation (Tenerife) for 2 weeks starting Wednesday.
Good luck everyone!

Will the pictures be of gameplay only or will there be pics taken from cutscenes and inventory screens as well?
