This is not a joke.  Somehow something or someone is spoofing my yahoo mail address and sending out a virus.  I ASSURE all of my friends here that I'm not doing it; I would never do such a thing.

But if you receive any email from rayivey@yahoo.com, DELETE IT.  I have not been using that account much at all lately, so if you see email from it, it's NOT FROM ME.

If anyone knows what I can do about this, I'm certainly open to suggestion.

Remember, procrastinate now.  Don't put it off!!

This sounds kind of like Klez to me.

It's a worm that gets in your computer and, like other viruses, it tries to email itself to everybody in your adress book.  But in an added twist, one of the other things it does is pick an email address at random and list that as the sender.  As a result, the actual infected computer could be sending out lots and lots of infected messages, but these messages will say they're from somebody else, making it very difficult to track down the actual infected computer.  Meanwhile, some other poor innocent soul who doesn't even have the virus is getting blamed.

A friend of mine had Klez, and his computer started sending out messages with my name on them.  Fortunately the worm wasn't entirely intelligent, and when I started getting emails from myself that I knew I didn't send it was kind of a clue that something was up.  Even so, it took a long time before I finally worked out what was going on.

If you think you might have Klez, Symantec has a free tool on its site that will locate it, and then remove it if you have it.
