I'm losing ground... fast! I can smell Taio's and Blount's hounds right behind my back! It's not a comfy situation out here... expecially if you're the fox I was thinking last week was the worst week for me... I had yet to see THIS week! I don't think I'll stay in the top10 for long...
Ragfox don't worry, I only know 2 screenshots by now :-/ I won't be able to reach you this time. I think I have seen some of them somewhere, but I cannot remember >

I had no trouble with the big backside, but the Grim Fandango pic had me conpletely stumped. Of the hundreds of screenshots I've seen of the game, I never came across that one. The Hollywood Murders is a completely new game for me, but the one that drove me [s]to drink[/s] the most crazy was the Blue Ice shot. I've seen it before but kept thinking it was a detective file with photos and a postcard, so I guessed Noir and The X-Files for it.

Lol, tell me about it! I gave up in frustration after a while! : Otherwise I might have found PQ2 in the end. (Ironically enough, I was about to complain you didn't put enough Sierra games in this tournament : ). Funny, I remember that game as having better graphics. Odd. Never would have gotten Grim Fandango, I don't even recognize the full screenshot! Where in the game is it exactly?
Now week 9, hopefully I can find some good ideas soon because once again I got nada, not even a clue on most of those pics. :-/

Status : Offline | man what a dull week! at least as far as the top 3 is concerned... superedy, papabrody and lady k guessed the exact same sshots! scoring of course the exact same pts, thus keeping things completely unchanged (but also breaking the pattern of even-odd weeks!)... lady k started with a very impressive bunch of early guesses and i thought at the time that she was going for a sweep... but it never happened...
this week was also marked by shany's mediocre performance, which brought her further away from the top 3, and the really bad performances by ziobeppe, agustin ("english version" doesn't mean american! ) and elfstone, which gave the chance to adrian to get his place in the top 5 and also made things in the bottom top 10 really packed! blount didn't do anything exceptional this week either and stayed at about the same distance away from the top 10, but now there seems to be a new threat rising - nick oikonomakis! with a nice dbl-pter, nick climbed to #12, pushing wimli further down, who, if he's not careful, risks losing further ground by the ever rising mehmet sencer... like adrian just proved though, there's still a long way ahead of us!

I'm kind of mad for not even looking for Quiet Weekend in Capri. I thought about recent games with photo backgrounds, but I guess I blocked the game from memory. Not that I would've found that picture anyway...
I also completely forgot about the part from Eye of the Kraken... How can you forget a giant chicken...
It seems like each week is harder than the one before. And that little jumpy JA+ isn't helping.

Oh, I'm pretty sure that will happen in the coming weeks as the tourney should have changed its name to 'Games Wimli won't recognize' these last few weeks. I made two guesses for week 9 (one correct, one wrong) and gave up afterwards. Looking at the solutions, I don't think I would have found one of the others had I put more time in it. I hope I'll at least have a direction to look for for some pics the following weeks! :

so superedy shakes off papa this week and stays alone first, thanx to another #10 guess of his (if he wins the tourney, it's mainly because of his #10s!)... lady k and shany lose a little more ground, and now, with 3 weeks remaining, chances are pretty slim for first place (but the battle still rages for 3rd place)... ziobeppe didn't participate this week which resulted to a big dive to tenth place... nick oikonomakis didn't even come close to his last week's performance and allowed wimli to reclaim a higher place... same goes for mehmet sencer, pushing eva and betje one step upwards... and a late new entry this week: shannara

| Deleted User | Ten weeks... high time to do some math of my own.
One hundred adventures in the contest so far. I've played 55 of them. I recognized 21 games plus one I haven't played. I joined the contest in week 3, but would have guessed only 3 pics from week 1 and 2. So my grand total is 24 correct. Out of 55... out of 100... That is [s]appalling[/s]... let's not be judgmental... I guess amazing is the word I'm looking for. :

I will aim to enter the Top 5... but the outlook is bad at the moment.

I think you had a great idea, i´ll do the same.
I started on week 5. Out of 50 games from week 5 to 10, I played 38 (76%), but guessed only 28 (56%).
In the previous 4 weeks, I would have recognized instantly about 9 screenshots (I think the one from The Dig was the easiest of the entire tourney), but I didnt play most of the other games.
My aim is to finish in the Top 10, which I think I can still accomplish, week 11 seems easy.

My own (rather pitiful) stats:
I've played 19 games, and correctly guessed 11 of those. I've correctly guessed 9 games I haven't played.

[smiley=doh.gif] i just noticed that your jp guesses were for pic#2, not 3!!! i was wondering how you could guess jp3 for this kind of gfx, and not jp1... now i know why! (if you had guessed jp1 for #2 i would probably have counted it for #3 :) i can see how one could think #2 was from jp2 though, from the davinci era (davinci everywhere! )

So far, I've guessed the 4 games I've played correctly, which leaves 60 correct guesses for games I haven't played.

Somehow I seem to always correctly guess Father Frost even though I've never played it. It has a look to it [which I remember from reading the review] that has yet to be duplicated anywhere else.

You probably are right, except for "Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom of Fungoria" & "The adventures of Valdo and Marie", games which I think look very similar.
