@lady k: i don't know if you were here back in the pre-tourney days, when agustin was posting some pics... back then he had posted gremlins one time

Yep, I should have learned my lesson by now. Make a guess if you have a hunch no matter how unlikely it seems. It's not like I'm using up my guesses anyway. Hey, that gives me an idea! Anyone want to buy some guesses from me for only a quarter of a point each? 50% off Aya's rate, step right up and get them! :

It would have been a give away if it had been the boat in the little pond. Myst crossed my mind for that pic because of the boat, but then I thought, nah, the background doesn't fit, so like Andromus, I didn't make that guess. : Oh well, I'm not a Myst expert either, so I don't really mind missing that one.

I have the right answer written down for one of them but typed it incorrectly. There goes one of my precious guesses, which I'm definitely going to need this week. :-/

Yes, it's definitely not an easy week, especially pics 6-10 are totally baffling this week. I have no idea about any of them. I may still have some guesses left, but I simply have not a single idea on any of the 2 points pictures. Like Andromus, I wish I could sell my remaining guesses. That way, at least I'd be able to get some extra points in return for them, cause this week, wild guessing just ain't gonna do it.

Good mixture of 1st person/3rd person games and new/old games. Unfortunately I started playing 4 weeks late. Is there any possibility that people that couldnt begin playing at week 1 could have more chances or sth to balance difficulty with people that started from the beginning?

unfort i can't do anything about ppl that started late... believe me, i have given this a lot of thought, but there is nothing that can be done that wouldn't be unfair to those who started playing on week 1... the best feasible idea i came up with was to announce the tourney early, which i did (kaos was announced on ja's front page and the forums 1 month before it started)

the top 5 and top 10 are also far from being determined, with lots of ppl coming up from behind to claim a position... with 7 weeks left, no one knows what's going to happen there!

I'm also mad for missing Amazon, for some reason I always forget about that game even though I tried playing it some years ago.

Pathetic is the word. Simply pathetic. Part of my problem was too many choices. Because of the extra time, I wrote down lots of possibilities and then made some wishy-washy guesses instead of narrowing them down. I did consider Chewy, but there's a similar Coke-like machine in another screenshot from the game with different words on it, so I rejected it. (There can't possible be two, I thought.) : I also considered Shadow of the Comet based purely on the graphics, but that head kept throwing me off.
Aya, What version of Dream Zone is that? Is it a remake? The only pics I've ever seen of it are rather primative and either black and white or colored with hot pink and cyan blue.

That was the reason I didn't pick it, because I thought no way you use a game like that in "easy"... a&d has a very characteristic style, which is why so many ppl guessed it! and btw, who said that's an "easy" category? that's just the 1pt category!
in general, the number of correct guesses are actually proof that week 6 was a pretty easy week! i don't think there have been so many guesses in the 1.5 pt category before!
the rankings are getting more interesting every week! papa now reaches superedy at the top (an interesting note: after every even numbered week, there have been 2 ppl tied at the top!!!)... the battle is raging in the top5 and top10, with the 3 italians scoring exactly the same pts (!), elfstone losing ground by trying to judge what makes an easy pic (), agustin gaining ground fast and taio coming in from behind with a mighty impressive 4pointer! wimli stays out of the party for just 0.5 pt! blount looks like somebody who could have created some commotion too, had he caught the tourney from week 1... wondering what week 7 has in store... will lady kestrel claim back her lost throne? will shany hit top 3? will agustin keep up his wild stampede? will elfstone learn from his mistakes and just look at the pictures?!

Status : Online | Darn it! I knew that was Operation Stealth but found another picture with a hotel in it that made me thing otherwise (the main problem I have with this tournament is that even when I think I know a game I can't find proof).
I had a similar problem with Conspiracies, I thought that was it because of the style of the picture, but in every screenshot I saw any poster looked very badly on the background, and here it seemed to fit better, so I didn't guess. I'm really mad at myself now.
I'm proud of myself for getting Igor right, though. I knew those clothes looked familiar...
Week 6 was really easy, but that was good. After the site was down for nealy a month, it was great to come back to the tourny and not feel so lost.
Week 7 on the other hand...
