The old forum was really quite grand. It was started in 2000, and Randy pulled the plug on it near the end of 2001. There was Orb, and Harriet, and Lenny, and that guy who wrote the "Teenage Adventure Gamer" column. There were all sorts of other people, but I can't really remember their handles... I'm really bad with handles.
It was very small compared to this one: it had maybe 1/4 as many posts. It wasn't so slick like this one with the corporate representation, and the celeb drop-ins, but it was very cozy.
The end came around October 2001. There was a lot of political debate around that time. One of the administrators banned a group of vocal debaters. He promised to let them back in after submitting a written apology. A poster called "Hanover" wrote that apology, but wasn't allowed back in...
Our greatest moderator and administrator (Orb) quit at that point. And then Lenny got fired.
Just Adventure was one of my favorite sites up until that point.
And then the Just Adventure forum was finished.
It was a very sad affair.
I don't visit much anymore.

It sounds like you were very comfortable with the old forum and by reading the posting in this one, you are not as comfortable.

As for me, I blame Clockwise.
