i am posting one pic, part of an adventure game sshot (today at 6 pm gmt), in the usual way... you can post your guesses on this thread... the answers will be posted on this thread too... only ONE guess at a time, until an answer is posted... no limit of total guesses... the first one who has posted the correct answer gets 1 point... after the first pic has been guessed correctly comes a little twist!
the person who posted the correct answer has to post the new pic! one pic, part of an adventure game screenshot... the screenshot needs to be from actual gameplay, no menus, inventory or dialog screens etc... try not to make it too easy, eg by including guybrush's face if you post a pic from monkey island, or too hard, eg by posting a solid blue square that is supposed to be the sky from king's quest 2! needless to say that the person who is the current pic poster cannot make a guess (and also, i can play too!)! guesses will be again one at a time until the pic poster answers... again, whoever makes a correct guess first gets 1 pt and posts the next pic... there is a catch though! a pic can stay unguessed for only 24 hours... after that time, the current pic poster needs to post a new pic for another 24 hours... having 3 pics total unguessed will result in a 1 point loss! having 3 pics total unguessed straight will result in a 2 point loss!
also, a new pic cannot be posted until 1 hour has elapsed after the correct guess was made, but not later than 10 hours after the confirmation... if that sounds confusing, here's an example:
lady k is the current pic poster... elfstone makes a correct guess at 12:45... lady k confirms it at 1:15... elfstone needs to post the new pic, but at least one hour after he made his correct guess, ie after 1:45... but not later than 10 hours after lady k confirmed it, ie no later than 11:15
in order to post pictures, you need to use a host... if you don't have one, a free host can be found at: http://imageshack.us/
you can get your own sshots, or find them online... you can cut the part you want using an image editor (mspaint will work fine)
in order to post the image, you need to upload it to your host first and then use the [img] [/img] tags, eg [img]http://www.hostingplace.com/syberia.jpg[/img] (of course it wouldn't be wise for the filename to contain the game's name!)
the whole game will be played in this thread... i will be keeping up with the scores, but you can play independantly and don't have to wait until i post the updated scores... the current pic poster needs to post the name of the person who posted correctly as well as the game name under the pic... posting the full pic after that is optional, but it would be nice!
the game will last for 25 pictures... each picture needs to be numbered when posted... unguessed pictures do not count (ie the next pic should have the same number as the unguessed pic)... we can of course make it longer if it gets interesting!
remember, this is highly experimental!
