I loved it too but gave the game a 9 simply because I loved Day of the Tentacle even more and gave it a 10.

Status : Online | I never really enjoyed the first two MI games. I think you had to be there at the time to appreciate them, they were already very old when I played them.
I find it hard to play games with a lot of dialogue but no voice acting, and there's very little music in MI1, so a lot of the time you're playing in complete silence.
Some of the puzzles had stupid solutions, and I just didn't find it all that funny.
I'm afraid it gets a 5 from me.

Status : Online | I gave it a 9 because although I don't remember a heck of a lot of the details I do remember that it was brilliant and had a great design and music with a funny entertaining story...and wonderful puzzles of course. Left a mark for sure - a classic.
