How could we have overlooked the Monkey Island games this long?
For me this game was about as perfect a comic adventure I've played save for Day of the Tentacle. Great humor, loved the now classic insult sword fighting, nice balance of challenge for a comic adventure overall, not frustratingly difficult like many comic adventures. I'm probably being overly nostalgic, but this game was a "10" for me.

.

I loved it too but gave the game a 9 simply because I loved Day of the Tentacle even more and gave it a 10.

I gave it an 8. I liked it very much, the humor and setting were fun to play, and the puzzles were clever and enjoyable.

I never really enjoyed the first two MI games.  I think you had to be there at the time to appreciate them, they were already very old when I played them.

I find it hard to play games with a lot of dialogue but no voice acting, and there's very little music in MI1, so a lot of the time you're playing in complete silence.

Some of the puzzles had stupid solutions, and I just didn't find it all that funny.

I'm afraid it gets a 5 from me.
...not to be confused with Keira Knightley

I gave it a 9 because although I don't remember a heck of a lot of the details I do remember that it was brilliant and had a great design and music with a funny entertaining story...and wonderful puzzles of course.  Left a mark for sure - a classic.
