For myself I give it 10/10 simply because it had everything I like in adventure games plus beautiful graphics. Finished it in 4 days because I couldn't pull myself away from it to go to bed

Deleted UserI gave it a 6. Those graphics were lovely, but the voiceacting was terrible and the story had big holes in it. It was also too linear for my taste.

No, but it shows how popular a game is. I think the option should be included (it is there on all the other polls).

It's also a polite way to include people who haven't played it yet...

I gave it a 6 but kind of grudgingly.  The voice acting was sooooooo bad, please, it drove me wild.  Most of the puzzles were easy to medium and I thought they were well integrated.  The graphics were pretty but that rain, rain, rain thing became like a torture (noticing that in NiBiRu too but at least the sun's out once in a while there) Some major holes in the plot but still an interesting plot.  I for one kind of liked the ending in the sense that it left you wondering what the heck just happened and you could ponder that after you were done.

'7'.
It was one of the longer new games I've played, which I liked. The exploration part was satisfying. I didn't mind the voices, and the story was good enough to keep me interested. The graphics were well done, but indeed, it was a dreary world. I liked the linearity of it, sort of like GK games where you stay in a block until all is done.
I did find the puzzles too easy, and the ending had too many questions still unanswered.

PROS: -Good lenght
-Intriguing story (but...)
-Beautiful graphics
-Generally good gameplay

CONS: -The puzzle with the astrological signs requires you to already know what those signs are -which I found TERRIBLY unfair. I'm still pissed about the hours spent searching for clues ingame when I had absolutely no mean to find the answer. Oh well.
-A dead end without feedback.
-The story is in fact a little crappy, not to mention predictable and full of plot holes.
-The animations are awful
-The voice acting is awful

I rated it a... well, I rated it low, anyway.

Terrible voice acting, horrible character animation, plot holes the size of Texas, dead-ends and uneven static graphics: some were great and others were shoddy.

BUT, I would love to live in the mansion.  Great atmosphere, besides the whole dead people thing.

I'm glad it's over.

I gave this a 9  - I loved everything about this game except the ending (plot-wise.)  Otherwise, well done!!

Deleted UserI played this game for a week before I got bored walking slowly back and forth the same screens over and over and over in order to say the right thing to unlock the boring conversations.

Games like this ruin adventures for me. Kill the boring conversations. I've had enough conversation threads and anymore like this or Moment of Silence and I'm going to quit buyng games and get a dog instead.

I rated it a three.

Just finished it last night!
I liked it, though it's far from perfect. I gave it a 7.

Good:
- great atmosphere
- beautiful backgrounds and art work
- interesting story
- lengthy gameplay
- overall nice puzzles

Bad:
- horrible voice acting
- ugly character animation
- a few too many locked-door-find-key puzzles
- giant plot holes (Spoiler Alerteg: Would have liked to learn more about Robert's experiments. Also, it's definitely a missed chance that the makers didn't tie those experiments in with the main plot line. And also this: if Samuel was the killer, then who killed William? Samuel wasn't yet around Black Mirror castle when that happened.)

Overall I had lots of fun with this game, some frustrations aside. So generally a good game, just not the great game it could have been.

Black Mirror came very, very close to de-throning Gabriel Knight as my favourite game of all times. Very close indeed. The ending spoiled it all for me. I loved this game, it had me glued to my computer for days, I just couldn't stop investigating the mystery of William's death and the mystery surrounding the old castle. The graphics are stunning and left me open-mouthed. The puzzles were fair and not too tricky though I must admit that it took me a while to solve the planetarium-puzzle. Or the puzzle in the chapel that opens a secret passageway to Marcus' grave. These puzzles took their time but they were, after all, solveable. I loved the settings as well; they were very inventive, had great atmosphere (the morgue, anyone?) and all in all I'd say Black Mirror is one of the finest games ever made.

Why only 8 points, then? As I mentioned above, the ending spoiled the game for me. It was too short, too "What the hell is going on now?", it left me with too many questions like who killed William. And on replaying the game I found that some parts are highly illogical: So the five keys are there to _open_ the Black Mirror and that's why they've been distributed over the whole land so no-one can reopen the mirror, right? At least that's what William's diary says. So Samuel goes ahead in search of the keys - to _close_ the mirror. I know, keys can open _and_ close something but since William had specified these keys would only _open_ the mirror I was a little confused. One thing I didn't like about the game was running to and fro  like a maniac; now and then someone would tell you to come back later but the game gave you nothing to do in the meantime. All you could do was wander around and hope that whatever the guy you talked to before was doing for you was finished. That was not necessary. So 8 points it is, then
