You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

The question is tricky because we always understand the phrase "who wrote" to mean "who first wrote" or "who originated." The fact of the matter is that Cobain did write those words shortly before he ended his life at the age of 27 by blowing his brains out with a shotgun, leaving a wife and a 1 year old daughter.
Have a great weekend folks.

so the original was neil young, and not bob dylan after all...

I guess I am getting old. :-/ Those people need to listen to Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young and discover that grunge music started with him, not Cobain or Eddie Vedder. He was "Rockin in the Free World" while wearing shorts down to his shins way before they were.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!!!

If you're born in Canada, you're still an american.

I think your right.
Eddie Van Halen was on Beat it and Clapton was on the Beatles hit.
Not sure of the others

Early this year, within a few days of each other, Spencer Dryden (Jefferson Airplane) and Jim Capaldi (Traffic) both passed away.

Let us not forget Joe Elliot from Def Leppard. He used that line at the begining of Rock of Ages on the Pyromania album.

They're all in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

| Deleted User | Traffic was a minor band with major talent.
Dave Mason came into his own as a solo act, as did Steve Winwood. But I can’t remember a single song by Traffic. Did they even have a hit?
And "Feelin' All Right"doesn't count in my book as Joe Cocker had the real hit with it. Dave Mason wrote it and Mason had a love/hate relationship with Traffic, quitting the band several times.
