That was the exact first thing I remembered.....oh how that was unique.....and a beautiful thing at that.
She also had a great ability at crafting crafty sentences; I really admired that....
Here's to a real Adventure gamer.....Anne we'll miss you very much....
Anne, keep up the Adventure and don't give in too easily for a walkthrough because you're one smart gal...

I want to echo Caroline's sentiments. Anne was fantastic, and now there'll be a butterfly-shaped hole in the forums no-one will ever be able to replace... we will all miss you.

Anne was an incredible person! She had an amazing sense of humor, her posts would often make me laugh out loud, and I mean rolling-on-the-floor-laugh-out-loud! She was also very witty and I'll never forget her truely original writing style (playing around with language, no spaces, ...), her great imagination (all those wonderful stories!), her associative ability, the posts that made you think for a minute before you got the joke. To put it simple: she injected a great sense of fun in her posts that worked positively infectuous on the entire forum.
But above all things I'll never forget her kind heart, her friendly words for everyone, her deep founded respect for other people, her honesty, her caring for the community and all that goes on in the world. I'll never forget the supporting pm's she send me when I first came out, just as I'll treasure the many fun pms she send me on all kinds of various subjects over the years. And I'll surely miss all the future occasions to chat with her in the forum on films, literature, games, guys and life in general.
It's good to hear her death was without too much pain, but 67 is just too young to go for a person who was filled with so much positive energy and joi-de-vivre as Anne was.
Thank you Anne, for all the joy, humor, good conversations and support you gave in abundance, and without expecting anything back. I hope you know how much you meant to this forum. You will be dearly missed. You will always be remembered here at JA and in my heart.
My sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

Status : Online | Hi I would like to post a reply to all those who have sent good wishes to Anne's family. I am posting on behalf of Carolyn, Anne's daughter, my best friend. She is so very touched by all your wishes and condolences, they are bringing tears and comfort at a very sad time :'( She, along with her brother, are checking the postings here regularly and it warms all our hearts to know Anne was loved so much by so many and that she had such fun. The reference to the butterfly has touched Carolyn in particular; she had a tattoo recently on her arm of the most beautiful butterfly which I could show you all if I could work out how to put it on here!! She said she never realised it would come to be so apt. Again I thank you all personally for your love and support, Carolyn is my very best friend and I love her dearly; that you all took the time to express your love and concern has touched her greatly, therefore I thank you all profusely.
Kind regards to you all.
Kathleen. --x--

Anne was a constant source of amusement and compassion. I didn't realize how much the people in this forum meant to me until we lost her. I guess no one, except others who form a bond online, can understand. I was literally shaking when I first read the news and felt sick. We have truly lost a friend.

| Deleted User | Kathleen, that was very touching to hear. Yes, Anne was loved by many, and yes, the butterfly post was very poignant. I remember a time where I had the purple butterfly as an avatar, and she had the yellow one. That brings back memories.
And regarding what Chris said - it may sound kind of minor, that Anne never managed to operate the first GK games, but you're right. It does have some meaning to me at least, as my last 'talk' (by PMs) with Anne was about that. She asked me how I was doing getting BS1, and I about GK1 and GK2. I really wanted her to play them and hear her thoughts. Now it never will happen. That was the adventuress side of Anne that passed away with her. :'(

Status : Offline | Kathleen - Indeed, Anne posted a picture of herself, so we were all able to see the lovely lady behind the butterfly. Val posted it earlier in the thread, but it's also here which is the thread I first saw. Something about that thread didn't seem right, so I had to see what Aya was referring to and found myself here.
:'(
Anne was the first person to participate in our forum Halloween Party I came up with. I helped her put on a costume. She also offered support in whatever crazy thread I posted. Whether it was some sort of crisis, a question, or miscellaneous.
I also had a butterfly avatar - think I'll switch back to it for a few days.
