Status : Offline | I went to a computer show recently, for the first time in several years. Normally I ignore the shelves full of games and software, as I usually think they're rubbish. I had a bit of time to kill this time, however, and couldn't resist; since I've gotten into collecting adventures, I'm now ever-hopeful that I'll find that one gem everyone else has overlooked.
I came away with:
The Last Express Blade Runner Inherent Evil: Haunted Hotel
and a couple of other non-adventures, for the extremely appealing price of US$4 each. The last two are in retail boxes, and in very good condition. The Last Express is retail-boxed, and shrinkwrapped to boot. I also picked up The Longest Journey for $10, which was really nice.

Oh and probably the cheapest game I bought was King's quest 7 for 1/3 of a penny. Im serious. It came with three other games(earthsiege 2 and pro bass fishing or something like that) which were all together a penny.
Also bought Syberia and longest journey for a dollar........................................just kidding

Status : Offline | My standard rule now is that, if I see any Adventure game in a bargain bin eg. $9.99 or so, I buy it 'cause it seems that after stores sell them out, they don't re-order. So, now I have a stack of Dreamcatcher's games waiting to be played (they seem to often be in the bins for $9.99).
I get the impression that stores just don't know what to do with Adventure games- you'll see them filed in different places all over the store. Also, the pricing can be a crack-up. I'm sure a lot of you have seen Myst-Exile for $29.99 or even $39.99 sitting right beside Myst Trilogy for $39.99. (Of course, you can occasionally find Exile for as low as $14.99 at CostCo).

The future ain't what it used to be!

But I found a copy of 'Sanitarium' for £5. That's about $7. This was.. last year, I think.
I -could- always make a copy of it for someone here, in exchange for a copy of 'I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream'. Fair trade? Let me know if interested

Unfortunately, I gave it to my sister-in-law (I already owned it) and I still don't think she's ever played it! > She must be punished... then again, being married to my brother is probably punishment-enough!

Amerzone was released for PSX?!!
*sigh* Does anyone know of a good resource that lists every game released for every gaming platform ever? A little blurb on the game would be cool too, but at this point, I'm willing to trudge through even a basic text file. Grr... I hate not knowing what's out for what, or that a different version of a game is available.

Really? Hmm... I thought Babbage's, SoftwareEtc., PlanetX and Funcoland were all GameStop retail properties, and that EB was completely separate. Indeed, IIRC, EB was in direct competition with SoftwareEtc.

Anyway, what I basically meant was that EB is just like the others, a software/game store.

But I am very fond of the Myst Exile Digital Press Kit someone sold me at a flea-market for about $5. I guess because it is the kind of stuff I would normally never get my hands on!?!
Anyway, my advice is, allways be on the look out! rare games tend to pop up at the strangest places!

I found my copy at an Electronics Boutique. Amazon.com has a few used copies as well, or at least they did a couple weeks ago. Hope you find one. A really fun game.
